Melody W. is our Caregiver of the Quarter! Melody's commitment shines through her consistent communication, versatility in meeting clients' needs, and dedication to going the extra mile. She understands the critical nature of the care we provide, even stepping up on an available weekend to help with a Quincy client in urgent need of coverage. Her exceptional dedication was also evident during extended weekend shifts with a rural client, where she earned praise for her kindness, expertise, and delightful coffee cake. Although distance limits her from working recurring shifts, Melody's contribution allowed us the time to focus on building a strong team, and her impact remains palpable. Melody's willingness to cover shifts at a moment's notice, tackle challenging needs, coupled with her excellent communication via the WhatsApp team messages, ensures seamless support for both clients and her fellow care pros. Milissa R. - December 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Milissa R. has been chosen as the Care Pro of the month for December! Milissa has been an outstanding Care Pro for us in the Quincy area for the last four months. She makes amazing connections with each and every client she meets. Milissa never hesitates to work long hours or pick up shifts last minute to make sure all of our clients have the care they need. She is also very consistent with her shifts. She is a joy to talk to on the phone and have in training. She truly cares about her clients and loves giving back. She is an amazing care pro and touches lives with the care she provides.
Abigail H. - November 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Abigail H. has been chosen as the Care Pro of the Month for November. Abby is always going above and beyond for Home Instead by picking up last minute shifts, staying over, working long hours, and making connections with her clients. She has grown within a short amount of time to improve as a care professional and is always willing to improve. She is a very hard worker and willing to go above and beyond consistently. She also has a variety of clients and has done well at almost all of them. Abby is a people pleaser and wants her clients to be as happy as possible. She really wears her heart on her sleeve. Our Care Pro of the Month for October is Mandy H. Mandy is a very consistent Care Pro. She has great relationships with her clients and peers. She is compassionate about caring for seniors, and this shows in her reliability and communication with the office. Mandy picks up shifts and does all she can to make sure that her clients receive the excellent care they deserve. She is a team player and advocates on behalf of her clients and herself. Our Care Pro of the Month for September is Janet R. in the Jerseyville area. Janet has made great impressions with her clients. They feel she is loving and kind and steps up to complete tasks. She has a kind and gentle approach and brings great comfort. Janet is fabulous with communications in group chats and responding to the office. She calls back in a timely manner and reports concerns. Janet goes above and beyond to help out whenever she can. She has a big heart and picks up shifts even outside of her availability, to ensure clients are not left without coverage. Debrah E. - August 2023 Care Professional of the Month
The Care Pro of the Month for August is Debrah E. Debrah is a sweet caregiver that her clients love to have, she is a favorite with her outgoing personality and hard working disposition. Debrah is kind and takes her time with her clients but can really get her tasks done quickly and efficiently. She has stellar communication and is very friendly. She asks for updates on clients and reports any concerns to the office. From day one with Home Instead, Debrah has really hit the ground running with being a caregiver. Elva D. - July 2023 Care Professional of the Month
The Care Pro of the Month for July is Elva D., and it was a unanimous decision by all departments. Elva is a fantastic Care Pro. She has great communications with the office, whether it's a phone call, text or email. She always responds as soon as she can if she does not answer when called. Elva is always willing to help with any client she has. Elva has been a life saver on multiple occasions with last-minute shifts. She is so pleasant on the phone and always eager to help her clients and help us get things covered. She has great connections with all of her clients and is very genuine when interacting with others. Her clients always look forward to seeing her. She was very patient, kind and knowledgeable while Dawn was working with her to take her Alzheimer’s Disease exam. Thank you, Elva, for being so Amazingly Awesome!!
Justine W. - June 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Justine W. has been chosen Care Pro of the Month for June. She provides excellent and consistent care for her clients. Justine picks up shifts when she is able. She is attentive to her clients, takes initiative to do what needs to be done, asks if there is more that she can accomplish, and completes all tasks. She goes above and beyond to help out her clients. Recently a family member sent a message that read, “A huge super big shout out to Justine for covering every one of Dad's shifts this Mother's Day weekend. So very grateful for her care and sacrifice when no one else was able to help. We appreciate her so very much.” She shows up to every shift with a great attitude, on time, friendly, energetic, kind, and always ready to do whatever is needed. Cheryl R. - May 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Cheryl R. has been chosen as the May Care Pro of the month. She cares very much for her clients and is very reliable. She has great connections with all her clients and is always willing to meet new clients and help when she can. Cheryl is a great caregiver and is very helpful with picking up shifts and coming into the office to report any concerns that she has. We had an office staff member needing extra attention due to not feeling well and unsteady while standing. Cheryl was there to be eyes and ears while the office phones needed attention. Darla K. - April 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Darla has been selected as the Care Pro of the Month for April! She has been a dedicated Care Pro, consistent with her schedule for her clients, and picks up any extra shifts she can to make sure her clients have care. She has great communication and calls back in a timely manner. If she needs guidance, she advocates for herself and succeeds in most client's homes, making her adaptable and consistent. She has won the hearts of her clients, and they always love seeing her when she walks through the door. Darla always comes through even at the last minute! Amanda P. - March 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Our Care Pro of the Month for March is Amanda P. for all her hard work which is not going unnoticed. During her time with us Amanda has progressively developed into an amazing Home Instead Care Pro. She has grown by leaps and bounds, working hard to improve communications with her teams and the office staff. Amanda has improved as a team player by letting them know of any concerns or helpful tips when they message in group chats. She is always quick to assist her clients, from picking up shifts to staying late and helping introduce a new team member. Her clients look forward to spending the day with her. She has a great, easy-going personality the clients really enjoy. She has a personal drive that makes her a busy little bee that her clients view her as a real go-getter. She is continuously improving her skills to become the best version of a Care Pro that she can be.
Myriah C. - February 2023 Care Professional of the Month
Our Care Pro of the Month for February is Myriah C. Myriah helps with any shift she can, in her availability or not. She will help her team members with any questions or with staying over to help with anything the next person may need help with. She has had struggles in her homes, but she has figured out how to make the best out of each shift for her and her client. She has great communication with the office and her team members in the group chat and communicates openly with the office about any concerns or questions.

Annie C. - 2022 Care Professional of the Year
Just like all our Care Pros of the Year, Annie C. has a special place in both her client’s hearts and the hearts of all of us at Home Instead. She represents Professionalism, as one of her clients stated that she rolls with the punches no matter what trouble or setbacks come their way and does it well and in a professional manner. Annie goes above and beyond what is expected of someone, while always doing her best to be a professional Care Pro. She delivers a high level of Consistency that one can always depend on, picking up shifts and helping out other Care Pros whenever she can. She has grown so much in her five years spent with Home Instead and she continues to work on self-improvement. Annie helps her team of Care Pros out with friendly tips and tricks for clients, which makes her a wonderful team lead! Both care pros and clients trust her and rely on her for help, which speaks volumes about her Integrity. Her Compassion for those around makes her the ideal caregiver. She is full of empathy, and her adaptability to deal with completely different clients is astounding. Annie not only commits to her annual training each year, but she also took the extra step of completing the Alzheimer’s Association Certification after completing the most recent Alzheimer’s and Dementia training program. Quality Training is something that is important to her, so that she can provide excellent care to her clients at any stage of their life, wherever they call home. Annie is very dedicated to her clients and to the success of other Care Pros. She picked up overnights for a whole week outside of her availability to make sure her client was cared for up until he passed away. Annie is compassionate about her clients and their care. Clients are always happy to see her. Annie's communication is top-notch. She reaches out for assistance or to offer up any ideas and is very responsive to client care and scheduling. She can be put into any house and succeed. She has taken the lead and has developed trust among her peers and clients. Annie has grown tremendously since she began employment with us. Stacy W. - February 2022 Caregiver of the Month
Stacy W. has been chosen as Caregiver of the Month for February! Stacy is reliable and picks up shifts to help her clients outside of her availability if she is able to make sure they have care while we are in high demand. Stacy has great communication with the office and reports any concerns she has. All her clients really enjoy her coming to see them. During a recent QA a couple that Stacy cares for told how she spoils them and that she is the best thing that they could have asked for. They said that she is kind, caring, a hard worker, and an amazing cook. They appreciate everything that she does for them.

Emily T. - January 2022 Caregiver of the Month
Emily is very consistent with her high level of care and knowledge of being a Caregiver and is always willing to help when she is able. She gives detailed feedback on all her clients and has strong communication with Client Care and the other office staff. Emily has great thoughts on how to better assist her fellow Caregivers in the homes that she is in so that everyone on the team can succeed. She is a favorite everywhere she goes and can be put in any environment with successful results. Emily represents Home Instead in a positive light with the nurses who stop by and has a good rapport with them. There were three great nominations for Caregiver of the Month for this month. It was very difficult to choose just one. Ultimately, we chose a Caregiver who has been with us for almost a year. Elva has a sweet personality and a kind heart. She truly cares about her clients and the care they receive. Elva picks up last minute shifts and is always willing to help out when she can. Elva has wonderful communication with her fellow teammates as well as the office staff. Thank you, Elva, for all you do for Home Instead and your clients. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Matt B. - August 2021 Caregiver of the Month
This month’s Caregiver of the Month was unanimously nominated by all three departments. Matt is dedicated and goes above and beyond as a Caregiver. He picks up shifts outside of his 30 miles to assist with coverage and will cover call offs at the last minute after working long overnight shifts. He is very consistent and reliable with his schedule. He has great communication with the office and has excellent communication with other Caregivers he’s on team with. Matthew went above and beyond for Home Instead by traveling outside of his 30 miles to help cover overnights in the Jerseyville area so that the client had consistent shift coverage. Matthew makes strong bonds with his clients and quickly becomes a favorite in his client's homes. Matthew is a shining example of what it means to "Live Home Instead." Linda - July 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
The CAREGiver of the Month for July has been with Home Instead for almost 8 years. Linda is very reliable and consistent with her schedule and is always willing to help out with open shifts, even at the last minute. Recently she went in at 2:00 a.m. to fill in with a client whose CAREGiver had an emergency and needed to leave shift. She always calls well in advance if she needs a day off. She lets us know if she is scheduled too much and needs her schedule adjusted so she can give the best care possible to her clients. Linda consistently reports any changes she sees in clients or anything that is different than what the assessment reads. She is very caring, and it shows in her day-to-day work. Linda - June 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
We had a great choice for June’s CAREGiver of the Month. Linda has great communication with the office and her clients. She represents all of our core values with Home Instead, and she shines in her Compassion, Consistency, and Professionalism. Linda is loved by her clients and their families. A family member said that his dad has been happier, and having Linda has made a big difference in his overall state of mind. They could not be more pleased with the care that she is providing to his dad. She also expanded her role with Home Instead by becoming an On-Call Coordinator and is doing wonderfully there! Kathy - May 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
It's time to announce our May 2021 CAREGiver of the month, and I never get to say this, but this month was an EASY decision! We had a unanimous vote with all three departments submitting on behalf of the same amazing CAREGiver. They all raved about her commitment to being a CAREGiver, her impeccable communication, the amazing connections she makes with her teammates and clients, and her willingness to always help those around her. Melanie - April 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
This month we want to recognize a veteran CAREGiver for our April CAREGiver of the Month. She has been with us for nearly 3 years and has never stopped learning and growing. This CAREGiver provides consistent care to her clients. She has a caring heart and charm that helps her clients feel at ease. She is attentive, thorough, and takes initiative. She always asks if there is anything else she can accomplish or if there are things that she can do differently- She uses every situation as a learning opportunity. She has also recently taken on a Team Lead role to help her teammates replicate her success. She has time and again proven her dedication and fortitude in difficult homes and situations. All of these qualities have made her successful as she developed into an elite caregiver. We are truly honored that she is a part of our Home Instead Family. Tish - March 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
This month was a difficult choice because of how outstanding the nominations were, but Client Care put forth a persuasive nomination and that combined with her tenure, her reputation for professional excellence, and her commitment to teamwork- we had our winner. Her nomination said “When we think of her there is only one word that comes to our mind before all others, Fabulous! She takes great care of her clients, goes above and beyond to make sure her clients have care even in bad weather. She communicates with the office about the shifts she can help with before they are even open. She helps her fellow CAREGivers succeed in homes by sharing tips and tricks she has learned in the home. She has been a Team Lead before and has done a fantastic job. She helped a client come home from the nursing home and recover enough to become independent and only need us a couple days a week for a little help around the house but mainly for the companionship she has grown to love. Her clients adore her and cannot wait for her to come back. She makes great impressions in every home she has ever been in. She is a rock star, and we are very lucky to have her on our team!” That says it all! So, join me in congratulating Tish K. on being our March CAREGiver of the Month!!
Annie - February 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
This month we are very excited to recognize an individual who is a model CAREGiver. She has been with us well over 3 years and was a previous CGOM in March 2019 and has continued to rack up additional department nominations in between. Client Care put her forth this month because of her compassion and dedication to her clients and fellow teammates. She will regularly work outside of her availability to help anyone in their time of need. She routinely uses the team chat to check in with her fellow team members throughout the week to make sure everyone is doing well. She quickly becomes a favorite in the homes where she works because she loves what she does and knows she makes a difference. In addition, she has great communication with Client Care and Service Coordination. Please welcome me in congratulating Annie for being our February 2021 CAREGiver of the Month. She is truly deserving of this recognition and it’s an honor to have her as a CAREGiver and a part of our team.
Katie - January 2021 CAREGiver of the Month
We are excited to announce our January CAREGiver of the Month. Our recipient this month received heartfelt nominations from both CAREGiver Development and Client Care. Each department raved about her kindness, commitment and devotion to caregiving. CAREGiver Development said “ Katie has a sweet disposition and checks in routinely with CAREGiver Development and Client Care with any issues she might have. Katie likes to see growth in herself from year to year in her professional career, and I believe she mindfully puts effort and love into each home and CAREGiver team that she is a part of. Katie not only works hard, but she plays hard, too! She participated in CAREGiver Spirit week and dressed up to spread some holiday cheer around. Thank you for all that you do, Katie! You are very deserving of CAREGiver of the Month, and I look forward to watching you grow in your career!!” Congratulations are in order for Katie, our January 2021 CAREGiver of the Month. What a great way to start a new year.
Kathy - 2020 CAREGiver of the Year
Please join me in congratulating our 2020 CAREGiver of the Year, Kathy!!
Kathy had unanimous office support for her nomination. She has always been a go-to CAREGiver for a number of reasons. She is willing to help out when service coordination needs someone to step up. On a number of Start of Cares where the client was very resistant to having our services, Kathy was outstanding in helping persuade the resistant client to allow her to stay and see how it works out. She always was able to win the client over and often led to a long tenure client. She has worked with many of our most challenging clients and usually becomes their favorite too. She is able to adjust to the client, but still remain assertive in carrying out the care plan. She has often helped coach and train other CAREGivers in the homes she has succeeded in. This makes her an excellent Team Lead. Kathy has been a bedrock CAREGiver in the Jerseyville area for the past 8 ½ years. Always has a positive outlook that endears her to her clients who build great trust in Kathy. She also eases the way when a client only wants her. She builds up the other team members, so the client is more open to new members in the home.
Jerry even had our services for his mother and said “Kathy was one of my mother’s first CAREGivers at a time we thought she had given up on living any longer. Kathy came during mealtimes and encouraged mom to eat and socialize with others in the rehab facility. In no time, mom regained her will to live. I credit Kathy with this turnaround and that was at the end of 2012. For the next 2 ½ years, Kathy was my mom’s favorite and she enjoyed every visit.” Other families wanted to show their support as well.
Margie’s daughter said that “Kathy was the best thing for her mom since the family could not be with her all the time. Kathy became family. She brought mom so much happiness. We feel truly blessed to have had her in our lives.”
The daughter-in-law of another client said that “Kathy is not only good about communicating with the other caregivers but also with our family, she’s been a godsend and always stays calm under pressure. I know I can count on her”.
A current client stated “Kathy is the greatest caregiver that I could have ever asked for. She is wonderful and I look forward to seeing her each week.” But her daughter wanted to say more. She submitted the following letter on Kathy’s behalf, and we couldn’t have said it any better. Kathy Gundlach is an amazing caregiver. It's as simple as that. When my mom needed round-the-clock care earlier this year, Kathy was a standout. That continues through today. While mom has made a significant recovery and now has a caregiver only once a week, her time with Kathy is just as valuable. Kathy is professional but caring, discreet, and attuned (and responsive) to her client's moods and needs.
Kathy's common sense brings peace of mind to family members. When mom needed substantial help just to get through a day, Kathy was there for her every step of the way. She made mom comfortable with personal care that is sometimes difficult for formerly independent people to accept. Kathy is kind, considerate, and trustworthy. For now, mom has regained some of her independence, allowing her and Kathy to do things together that she wouldn't be able to do on her own. Mom enjoys their conversations and the help around the house, and she looks forward to seeing Kathy every week. As a daughter, I am so grateful to know that mom has that connection; on the days that Kathy is with Mom, I can feel myself relax, knowing she is in good hands. Kathy is our silver lining to what was a very dark cloud.
For all these reasons, any professional recognition that Kathy might receive will be well deserved and well earned.

Rieley - November 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
We are very excited to announce our November 2020 CAREGiver of the Month. “Rieley provides superb and consistent care to her clients. She has a bright smile and charm that have made her a favorite with her clients. They give praise to her work ethic. One client's daughter called to say that her dad is extremely happy with her assistance, and she is absolutely comfortable running errands while Rieley is there. She is attentive, thorough, takes initiative to do what needs to be done, asks if there is more she can accomplish and completes all we request. She goes above and beyond. They really appreciate having her on their team. Rieley has proven her dedication and fortitude in difficult homes and situations. We are truly honored that she is a part of our Home Instead Family. Cassie - September 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
We are very excited to announce our September 2020 CAREGiver of the Month. This CAREGiver has been with us for over a year but has shown exceptional growth in the past few months. She has demonstrated incredible dedication and compassion to all her clients, but especially a couple of individuals with very challenging needs, not only being there to provide exceptional care, but also as a fantastic team player. She has communicated very well with the office, becoming an excellent advocate for her client’s needs as well as her own, and we can’t wait to see what her very bright future holds. The August CAREGiver of the Month nomination comes from Client Care. This nominee is a veteran CAREGiver who has been with us for many years and always represents our Core Values. She is professional, compassionate, has an amazing work ethic, acts with the utmost integrity, and is consistent in all manners. She wins over her clients with a calm, kind reassuring demeanor, even when with client who can be challenging or difficult to please. Nicole - July 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
We are very proud to announce our July CAREGiver of the Month. This nominee has grown so much in her time with us and despite the obstacles in her path or the challenges she faced, she kept going and she kept smiling, if not for herself, for her clients. Her positivity and warmth have been exactly what her clients needed most during this time of anxiety and uncertainty. She has maintained excellent communication with the scheduling department, helping to ensure every client had the care they needed. She has worked outside of her availability, her area, helped with last minute shifts and taken on very challenging short-term clients- all to great success. Tiffney - June 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
​June is here and it’s time to announce our CAREGiver of the Month. These difficult choices are always made easier when we get multiple nominations for an individual, as we did this month. Client Care and CAREGiver Development both wrote moving nominations for this month’s awardee and we are so pleased to recognize this outstanding individual. She has been with us since April of 2018 and has grown so much in her time with us. Not only is she an exceptional CAREGiver, but she has expanded her positive influence through her KPA role with Client Care and as a mentor for Jacksonville area Team Leads.

Effie - May 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
Our May CAREGiver of the month was a standout nomination from the Service Coordination department. This CAREGiver has gone above and beyond during the Covid-19 crisis. She has opened up her availability, communicated her needs exceptionally well, and been the deciding factor on whether we were able to help some short-term clients in her area. Without her dedication and commitment there have been individuals and families who would have gone without the essential care they desperately needed. Candi - April 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
This has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone, especially frontline CAREGivers. We recognize that whether you are out providing care or sheltering in place, the current crisis is taking its toll on everyone in different ways. We want to recognize a CAREGiver who has been absolutely incredible through all of this and shown us her perseverance and courage. In her role as a Key Player Assistant (KPA) she has continued to assess individuals who need our services, adding new clients who are in desperate need of care, as well as driving wherever the need takes her to make sure her clients and CAREGivers have everything they need to be safe, like thermometers, masks, gloves and Care Logs. She has collaborated with Service Coordination to ensure her clients have a schedule that meets their needs and the CAREGivers in that area are being utilized in the best way possible. As a CAREGiver, she has accepted any shifts needed to help her clients and fellow CAREGivers, all of this while working to keep her own family safe. She has been unflappable in this time of uncertainty and not even a pandemic can stop her from keeping her clients and teammates safe. She is a great asset to Home Instead in every role she fills. Midge - March 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
Midge has developed during her time with us, particularly over the last year, by leaps and bounds. She has always strived to make a good connection with her clients and is helpful in picking up open shifts whenever she is available. Midge is a thick-skinned CG who is not afraid to take on some of our toughest/roughest clients and has managed to keep her cool even when the client is lashing out with behaviors. Her communication with the office has improved dramatically and her knowledge of technology is ever-growing. Mostly, she was nominated because of her heart. One day she called Client Care off shift to check on one of her clients. The client has been struggling, and Midge has been working with the office, team members and team lead in this home to offer better care to this client. She probably had better things to do this morning, but she called to see how her client was instead. Her heart shows compassion to the clients she is with beautifully.
Kathy - February 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
Kathy is a true example of a CAREGiver with a big heart, so it is only fitting to honor her in the month of February. Kathy has been rock solid for us with her performance and is always willing to help us out when we have an emergency and is flexible wherever we ask her to go. Kathy is very compassionate, and her clients look forward to her coming and are never disappointed with her service. Kathy makes her clients feel like they have a purpose, she gives them respect, and helps them keep their dignity, even in the most difficult situations. Kathy is a great team lead and also treats her team with compassion and respect. Kathy is effective at working through problems in a home to find the right solutions. We are blessed to have Kathy as a part of our Home Instead family, and our clients are lucky to have her. Becky - Share Your Heart Award Winner
Becky was awarded the Share Your Heart Award by sharing her heart with her client and client’s daughter. Her client's daughter wanted to thank Becky for taking such good care of her mom. Becky had been on shift and left a detailed message about completed cleaning/chores, medication reminders, and a description about how her client was feeling during the shift. The daughter appreciates the updates to ensure that her mom is receiving the best care possible. Thank you Becky for relieving the family's stress with your exceptional care and informative updates.
Melanie - Share Your Heart Award Winner

During a Q&A after Melanie's first shift with a client, the client's family said she did an excellent job. They were very pleased with her interaction with the client and were happy that she was able to give him a shower and cook for him. They said they looked forward to her coming again.

Shane - January 2020 CAREGiver of the Month
Congratulations to our January CAREGiver of the Month, Shane! Shane recently took on a new opportunity to be a Team Lead. While the tenure was short, he has "knocked it out of the park" so far as noted by Client Care. His excellent performance is made possible by his positive energy, commitment, compassion, and communication. He has already helped his team provide excellent care to their client. Mary - 2019 CAREGiver of the Year
Congratulations to our 2019 CAREGiver of the Year, Mary!
Mary has been with us since 2010. She has 62 hours of training and has provided nearly 9,000 hours of Professional, Compassionate care. Mary loves helping and serving others, especially those who are sick or elderly. Mary had the honor of taking care of her own family members before they passed, where she gained wisdom and experience to ease suffering of others. She received a B.S. in Education, worked as a librarian at a school for the deaf, and retired only to take on a new role as a news clerk/editorial assistant at our local paper for 10 years. We are the grateful beneficiaries of her third career.
Everyone in our office remembers the bond between Mary and one of her first clients. Mary perfected all of her routines and preferences, as well as taught her fellow caregivers how to replicate the routines. This collaborative teamwork meant that Mary's client always received the highest level of care. Mary communicated efficiently with the office and her client's family, and made sure her fellow teammates felt supported. Mary was even with her client when she passed. They created such a special bond over the years that can never be forgotten.
Thank you Mary for the impact you have had on Home Instead. Your warmth, sincerity, intrinsic ability to relate, to dissolve resistance, to calm, to encourage, and to give hope does not go unnoticed.
Brenda - Share Your Heart Award Winner
Brenda was awarded the Share Your Heart Award at the September CAREGiver Meeting. Brenda was nominated for sharing her bright, vivacious personality with the Home Instead Team.
"I am sharing my heart with Brenda today. Brenda drove from out of town with her family for the CAREGiver picnic in Jacksonville. She jumped right in and shared her fun, infectious personality with us. She has continued to do a great job sharing her heart with her clients as well. Our December 2019 CAREGiver of the Month is Emily! This CAREGiver has a rock-steady, positive approach to life that is truly contagious and one of the things that makes her an exceptional CAREGiver to seniors. We were especially impressed by her nomination from Client Care that said:

"I want to thank Emily for how well she handled a Change of Condition with her client. Her client was experiencing some mild confusion when she came on shift and shortly after, his Occupational Therapist came and realized the client's BP and o2 were low and recommended the family call the doctor immediately. While the son called the doctor she got on the phone with the office to update us while the therapist, client, and family member were still there. This allowed us to confirm important details with all parties. Emily was a source of calm and soothing for the family and represented the professionalism of Home Instead perfectly."

Sharon - Share Your Heart Award Winner
Sharon won a “Share your Heart Award” by quickly adjusting to a client and providing exceptional care.
“A client had a significant transition in her needs during a shift. The client transitioned from being almost bed-bound to up and moving around. As a respite client, her needs were mainly companionship. After this quick recovery, she was in need of side-by-side assistance with cooking and personal care. The family called the office to notify us of the changes in the client’s condition and asked who would be coming now that the needs had changed. The family called back after the shift with Sharon to let us know they were very pleased with how it went. They felt that the familiarity with Sharon combined with the new tasks made the client’s recovery more complete!”
Sharon shared her heart by quickly adjusting to the client in order to meet her needs. Thank you for your outstanding work!

Leanne was nominated for her excellent care and communication. Leanne frequently called the office to let them know of multiple changes in a client’s home. Leanne offered suggestions on ways to improve care for this client whenever possible. She was able to effectively communicate the client’s heart by relaying a great conversation they had. Leanne goes above and beyond the expectations by “sharing her heart” in her work.

Trish stood out from the other nominations because of her consistency, dedication, and tenure with our Home Instead Team. She has been with us for nearly three years, and has been a team lead in two of our homes. Trish was CAREGiver of the month in June, 2017. The same outstanding qualities that earned her the honor then, still apply today. She is compassionate, steadfast, knowledgeable, and a true leader.
