Winter gives a great time to find indoor activities, like watching great movies, for those needing elder care. Studio City, CA residents live close to some of the great movie production studios that put out some of the all-time great winter movies.

Live in caregivers for seniors and those who give personal care for the elderly near Studio City, CA are great at giving help. They can help find and play some great films in the homes of those in need of elderly companion care. Studio City, CA can call the trained, compassionate CAREGivers of Home Instead to find the best personal senior care.

Our CAREGivers would be happy to visit seniors and watch great movies, and they can even make some suggestions! Here are a few great movies of a winter theme, but there are so many.

First is the classic White Christmas starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera Ellen. Set in an idyllic New England winter scene, the musical numbers include some classics, though it is not the first time the song “White Christmas” was featured in a film — that distinction belongs to Holiday Inn, which was somewhat of a prequel to White Christmas. Southern California hardly ever has a white Christmas, but that’s just fine for those who need respite care assisted living!

You might also be interested in the comedy Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, starring Steve Allen and John Candy. Set in the middle of the country, Allen and Candy’s characters have a madcap adventure trying to get home for Thanksgiving. Only those who are healthy enough to laugh a LOT should watch this one with their 24-hour caregiver. Studio City, CA is far away from Chicago and Wichita, but this kind of humor knows no boundaries!

A third winter classic is a perennial favorite A Christmas Story. Set in Chicago (but filmed in Cleveland), Ralphie endures the hardships and struggles of childhood, and the exultation of Christmas morning in a middle-class, blue-collar home. In a positive development, Ralphie does not, in fact, shoot his eye out.

And one more winter movie to consider is Grumpy Old Men. With Walter Matthau, Jack Lemon, and Ann Margaret at their mature best, this film speaks of lifelong friendship, never-ending practical joking, and other themes and situations that should be familiar to those in need of an elderly companion agency. Studio City, CA won’t have snow as they get in Minnesota, but they can keep it! We’ll just enjoy the humor!

So enjoy this winter with the aid of residential assisted living near Studio City, CA! Find out how the CAREGivers of Home Instead can meet your needs with a virtual or in-home assessment by calling (818) 805-2208 today!
