Home Instead Celebrates Caregivers and Community at 'Wine, Women & Dementia' Premiere in Vancouver, WA

Home Instead of Vancouver, WA, recently had the honor of sponsoring the community premiere of "Wine, Women & Dementia" at the Kiggins Theatre.

The touching documentary allowed attendees to delve into the intimate exploration of dementia's human side. Filmmaker Kitty Norton, a former dementia family caregiver, embarked on a cross-country RV adventure with her best friend, Beth Rigazio, to meet and share experiences with other caregivers. The film beautifully wove together these stories, capturing the complexities of dementia life while emphasizing resilience and the celebration of life amidst its challenges.

There was also a "Be a Santa to a Senior" tree at the screening, showcasing the spirit of giving during the holiday season. Attendees had the opportunity to select an ornament containing a senior's gift request from the tree, purchase the requested gift, and return it to the delivery box located at the tree. The Be a Santa to a Senior Program has been incredibly impactful since its inception in 2003, with 2.1 million gifts given.
