Gail, Operations and Recruitment Manager

With over two decades of experience, Gail has worn many hats during her career. Simply put - Gail’s talents are invaluable. She has worked in marketing, billing, recruiting, scheduling and caregiving and her unique background is a perfect fit for our Operations and Recruitment Manager role. Gail’s job is complex and requires juggling the various needs of Clients and CAREGivers alike. When not managing operations, Gail spends her time cooking. Her specialty is Indian influenced cuisine such as eggplant bharta and chicken curry. Originally from Texas, Gail is still a Southern Girl at heart and always makes time for what she loves most – her family and her boxer/shepherd-mix dog, Tyson.

Nidhi is originally from Nepal but has become a true Pacific Northwesterner. When she’s not working, she enjoys hiking and backpacking in Washington’s wilderness, or getting dressed up for a night out on the town.
alex castas

Alex, Home Care Consultant

In senior care, we often find that it is a person’s personal story that propels them to work in the industry and Alex is the perfect example of that.  Describing it as the most impactful experience of his adult life, Alex dedicated years of his life caring for his father, who had severe Alzheimer’s Disease. At one point Alex realized he needed respite and arranged for home care for his dad. It was that experience that helped him appreciate the value of Home Instead’s care. In his role as a Home Care Consultant, Alex empathizes with families with similar stories and is able to guide them to services that will meet the needs of both the senior and their family members. Alex has a career history in customer service, with one of his memorable positions being in retail with Ye Old Curiosity Shop on Seattle’s waterfront. When not working, you might find Alex reading anything from cutting-edge technology books to mystery thrillers. He loves to go on short day hikes and travel to new places when able.

Jen updated

Jennifer, Staffing Coordinator

Jennifer holds the distinction of being our longest serving CAREGiver with nearly 2 decades of service to the Clients of Home Instead Seattle. Over the years, she has cared for a variety of people, all with differing personalities, likes/dislikes, and needs. She has learned from each and every one of them and is honored to have been able to help them live their best life. Today Jen serves Clients as the Staffing Coordinator matching CAREGivers to Clients with the goal of providing the highest quality of care. "It's like a big puzzle," Jen states as she tries to match the needs and desires of the Clients with the skills and availability of the CAREGivers. This is a challenging role, but Jen notes that it is a beautiful thing when everything comes together well.  When not working, Jen answers to the title of "Grandma" and enjoys caring for her grandson as she watches him learn and grow. And speaking of growing, Jen has a green thumb! Not only does she have a flower garden outside her home, but she is also cultivating a small jungle inside. She finds crocheting relaxing and can easily get lost in a good book.
