Nancy Greene, 2022 Harford/Cecil CAREGiver of the Year
"Nancy is a very compassionate and exceptional caregiver," said a staff member. "She has had several clients throughout the years and they all spoke fondly of her. We frequently receive calls from family expressing how amazing she was with their loved one."
This is likely because she is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure her client has everything they need to be safe, comfortable and engaged at home.
One such story is when she and her husband visited a client to modify a piece of furniture to make it easier for the client to access. She and her husband visited the client, on her day off, to accomplish the task. That is dedication.
There is a well-known quote from Mr. Rogers that we think of when we think of Nancy: "When I was a boy and I would see scary things on the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'"
As her clients and families struggle with the challenges of aging in a pandemic, Nancy is there. When things are hard, Nancy is helping. She is a helper, through and through, and we are so fortunate to work with her and see the good she brings into the world.
