Nashville July 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Carol A.
Meet Carol, the July Professional CAREGiver of the Month for Nashville! Carol is originally from Jamaica and spent 28 years in the Orlando, FL area. She has worked in a hospital and an assisted living facility prior to coming to Home Instead in December 2020. Her sister worked for Home Instead in Philadelphia and told her she loved her career. Carol found the position in Nashville and has loved what she does ever since.
She loves providing care for older people. She has a knack for making her clients comfortable. She recently had a client who could not sleep so she brought her outside for some sunshine, then brought her back in, tucked her in bed and sang to her. Her client got a night of real undisturbed sleep, which she needed so badly.
Ms. Carol has five children of her own, who reside in various places, from Jamaica to New York. When she is not working, she loves to shop for clothes at Ross or Wal-Mart. She likes to cook Jamaican food such as rice and beans or curry. If she goes out to eat, she will choose Olive Garden. You may also find her watching the Price is Right or a comedy, although she’s not much of a movie person. Carol’s supervisor says, “Carol’s genuine kindness, empathy and actions are so true to what we always refer to as the CAREGiver Heart. She is always prepared to take care of her clients in the way that is best for them”. We are so glad Carol decided to further her career with Home Instead. We know she is making a difference in the lives of everyone she touches. Congratulations Ms. Carol on this honor!
