About Us

Meet Our Home Care Team

John and Kathleen Stuck- Co-Owners

John and Kathleen Stuck, Co-Owners

​John and Kathleen have owned and operated the Home Instead Senior Care of Minneapolis since April of 2008. He attended the University of Minnesota and has over 25 years of experience in marketing and management. John oversees the day to day operations that require a high level of communication with clients, CAREGivers and office staff.

"As a franchise owner, providing a high quality service in our community is my commitment to our clients. Hearing the great stories from our CAREGivers about the difference they make each day to assist our clients in staying independent, and their family members knowing they are safe when they cannot be there."

Kathleen is the CFO for our franchise with a bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota and a Masters from St Thomas University.

​"It is personal to me because I can relate to our clients and their families. I know what it is like to want to be there and do more for an aging parent, while at the same time manage my own family and career."

Jessica Kraus, Recruitment Coordinator

​Jessica plays a key role here at Home Instead with a broad spectrum of caregiving experience. As a teenager, she worked in a group home with developmentally challenged young adults, which sparked her love for caregiving. Jessica then attended nursing school, and spent many years in acute care settings before moving into homecare. She has spent the last several years in care coordination, staffing, and overseeing client services. As the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, Jessica is responsible for vetting, hiring and orientation of our CAREGiver staff. She never compromises when making a hiring decision of our trusted staff.

Lori has experienced the joys and rewards in the health care field for over 35 years. Following her time caring for her own parents, Lori chose to continue the path of professional caregiving with Home Instead. In 2011, she joined us and has had the opportunity to provide care for several clients of varying degrees of need. She is now a key member of the Client Care Team and her professionalism and compassion truly stand out every single day!

Haven Smallwood, RN Supervisor

Haven Smallwood, RN Supervisor

​Haven has worked at Home Instead for over 6 years and is originally from Syracuse, NY. She is a mother of 3 sons. Haven moved to Minnesota to follow one of her son's and her only Grandchild. Haven brings 50 years of nursing experience with 35 of those years in Home Care and Hospice. Haven loves to spend her time working with needlepoint, baking and canning. The fan favorites are her canned pickles and jams. Haven provides supportive nursing care to our clients and conducts much of the new hire training.

To Haven, its personal because Home Instead shows respect for the aging population.

Deanna Ruddy, Service Coordinator

Deanna Ruddy, Service Coordinator

​Deanna came to Home Instead with an extensive background in customer service. Her experience within Assisted Living both as the Concierge greeting residents and visitors, as well as managing staffing for employees within multiple care environments allows her to successfully build relationships with our clientele and their families meeting the needs of the client, and ensuring CAREgiver connections are successful.

It's personal to me because I can relate to clients and their families. I had a Grandmother in a nursing home and seeing how she was loved and the compassion that was given to her while caring for her is why I know I wanted to do the same thing for clients and their families.
