Rosa's Caregiver Story:
“My journey with my clients started 3 years ago! The first couple of months, I have to admit it was a challenge to take on two clients who have been married for over 60 years. I was thinking 'They are very much alike.' Well, let me tell you that I was wrong! They have similarities but differences as well. I enjoy them every day. It's like clockwork... I get to their home and he is waiting for me at the door, looking at me with a big smile ready for me to make coffee for him. They still go on little adventures with their family and we go on our adventures which is usually taking a drive through downtown or West Sacramento just to see how much it's grown. I love seeing how excited they get seeing how much Sacramento has changed."
"Within these three years of working with them, I've learned so much about them. I always know what they're going to say before they say it! At times, we have our own language. It makes me feel good to know I make a difference in their lives. They are always happy to see me and are so comfortable having me in their home. They always tell me 'Rose "Little girl", we can't thank you enough for all that you do!' and my response is 'No, thank you for letting me be the third wheel!' and we all just laugh! The three amigos!!"
