Franchise Owner

After dealing with long distance elder care issues, while taking care of his parents in MN, Dan decided to resign from his industrial supplies sales position and start up the first Home Instead Senior Care franchise in the state of Alabama in 1997. Dan has continuously operated the day to day operations for the last 29 years. Home Instead has positioned itself to be the premier home care company for the elderly and disabled in the Birmingham area. Dan is active in the local community, serving on several boards that have an impact on things that matter most to him: Faith, Aging issues, Entrepreneurial Endeavors, and Improving Community. A partial list includes: Dan enjoys spending time with his family, reading, golfing, snow skiing, and ice hockey.

Andrea Martin

Andrea Martin

Director of Operations

Andrea Martin joined Home Instead in January 2009 as the Director of Operations. She grew up in Tuscaloosa and attended the University of Alabama. While attending Alabama she met her husband Will Martin and married in May of 2007. They have 3 children, Olivia, and boy/girl twins William and Harper. When Andrea is not working, she loves spending time with her family, going to the lake, and beach and attending all her kids many activities.

Director of Finance

Stacey Brooks has served as Director of Finance at Home Instead since February 2004, bringing more than two decades of financial leadership and dedication to the organization. A lifelong resident of the Birmingham area, Stacey is known for her commitment, professionalism, and strong work ethic. Outside of her role at Home Instead, Stacey values family above all else. She and her husband have been happily married for 40 years and are proud parents of three grown children. Whether traveling, attending concerts, cheering on her favorite college football teams, or gathering for cherished Sunday family dinners, Stacey enjoys creating meaningful memories with the people she loves most.

Jeanelle Huggins

Director of Client Care

Jeanelle Huggins joined Home Instead in March 2006, starting in our staffing/scheduling department and then moving to Client Care where she enjoys working with families to ease the stress of caring for their loved ones. She grew up in the Atlanta area but came to Birmingham to attend Samford University where she graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Jeanelle is an aunt to 9 nieces and nephews who keep her on her toes. She is also a foster mom to babies and toddlers through a local foster/adoption agency. When not at work, Jeanelle enjoys walking & playing with her 2 fluffy pups. She also enjoys reading, painting, eating chocolate and going to the beach.

Recruitment Coordinator

Jill Ballinger joined Home Instead in January 2005 and works in Human Resources as the Recruitment Coordinator. She was born and raised in Birmingham. She and her husband Chad have been married since 2005 and have 3 teenage children, Jackson, Cam & Brooklyn. When not at work Jill enjoys attending her kids sports games. They're a big basketball family and all three kids play. She also enjoys traveling to the beach and going to the movies with her family.

Retention Coordinator and Trainer

Condoleezza Bell joined Home Instead in 2012, she became part of the office staff in 2013 as the Weekend on call caregiver. She was promoted to in 2019 as a Recruitment and Retention Coordinator. She started working with seniors in 1983 and has really enjoyed every moment learning different things from them. She was born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. She enjoys spending time with her family as well as hanging out with her son when he comes to town. Her Hobbies are knitting, gardening, doing DIY projects around the house. She also has an interest in learning how to use different power tools.

Matthew Seals

Staffing Coordinator

Matthew joined Home Instead in April 2009 as on-call staffing coordinator. Matthew transitioned into the office as a staffing coordinator in July 2015. Matthew has 4 children. His oldest son is an Army Green Beret with current rank of Major. Nathan passed in 1998 in a tornado. His youngest son lives in Santa Cruz, California and is a carpenter. His daughter lives in Virginia and works with autistic children. Matthew enjoys movies, history, and Alabama football.

Angie Gomez

Staffing Coordinator

Angelie Gomez joined Home Instead in November 2025 as a staffing coordinator. Born and raised in the Philippines, graduated from university in 2019 and moved to the United States in 2021. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, family, and Chuck (her dog), as well as watching and playing sports.
