Dan Pahos, Franchise Owner

Dan Pahos, Franchise Owner

Dan Pahos is the owner of the Birmingham Home Instead franchise. After dealing with long distance elder care issues, while taking care of his parents in MN, Dan decided to resign from his industrial supplies sales position and start up the first Home Instead franchise in the state of Alabama. Home Instead has positioned itself to be the premier home care company for the elderly and disabled in the Birmingham area. For more information on Dan, please click here.

Andrea Martin, Director of Operations

​Andrea Martin has been with Home Instead since January 2009. She has been working in the senior care industry for almost 14 years. She grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama in 2006. While at Alabama she met her husband Will Martin. They were married in May 2007. When Andrea is not working, she loves spending time with her daughter Olivia, and her twins, Harper & William.

Stacey Brooks, Director of Finance

Stacey Brooks has been with Home Instead since February 2004 as Director of Finance. She was born and raised in the Birmingham area. She and her husband have three children. Most of her time outside of work is spent taking care of her busy family. Stacey enjoys traveling with her family and going to the movies. Stacey and her husband are very involved in Church of The Highlands where they lead small groups for married couples.

Jeanelle Huggins, Director of Client Services

​Jeanelle Huggins has been with Home Instead since March 2006, first as Staffing Coordinator and then as the Director of Client Services​. She grew up in the Atlanta area and settled in Birmingham after graduating from Samford University in 1996. Jeanelle loves being an aunt to her 11 nieces and nephews whom she enjoys visiting and spoiling. She loves singing in her church choir and spending time with family and friends. When not at work, she enjoys reading, eating chocolate (she eats that at work too), playing with her dog, and being a respite foster mom to babies through a local non-profit agency.

Susie McClanahan, RN, Client Care Coordinator

Susie has been with Home Instead since December 2014. She spends her time with new clients, conducting quality assurance visits, and dementia training with new CAREGivers. She was a hospice nurse for 12 years and feels that experience has given her a heart for working with seniors. She is married to an Internist and they have two children. Her sons each have a child, so their favorite thing is spoiling grandchildren. Susie is a Parish Nurse at FBC Pell City, and is always looking for volunteers to join her medical mission trips to Africa.

Kayla Cadden, Client Care Coordinator

Kayla grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a health administration degree. She married her high school sweetheart, Bailey in August 2018. Kayla has always had a passion for seniors and is excited to live out her passion. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and going to the lake.

Megan Sisk, Client Care Coordinator

Megan grew up traveling the world as an "Air Force Brat". She spent much of her childhood in Edmond, OK. She attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Megan has worked in case management for many years. Megan is married to Josh and they have two children, Wilson and Millie. In her free time, Megan enjoys hiking, cooking, baking, going to the beach and attending Atlanta Braves games.

Burdette Payne, Service Inquiry Specialist

Burdette Payne joined Home Instead in July 2017. He grew up in Akron, Alabama, and graduated from The University of Alabama. Before joining Home Instead, Burdette spent over 30 years in health care management, as the business manager of a medical clinic. In his free time, he enjoys movies, attending the theatre, and cooking for family and friends.

Jill Ballinger, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

​Jill Ballinger has been with Home Instead since January 2005. She started out as the receptionist and is now working in Human Resources. She and her husband Chad have been happily married since 2005. Jill has two young sons, Jackson and Camden, and a little girl named Brooklyn. When she is not working, Jill enjoys going to the movies with her husband, and spending time with her children.​​

Dot Johnston, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

​Dot has been employed by Home Instead since 2005, working in various capacities. She grew up in Florence, Alabama and graduated with a degree in Public Relations from The University of Alabama. She has been employed in the Birmingham area since 1980. Dot and her husband, Jim, have two children. She enjoys spending time with her kids who are way too grown-up as well as activities that promote fitness and health.​​​

Condoleezza Bell, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

Condoleezza Bell has been working for Home Instead since June 2012. She became part of the office staff in February 2013 as the weekend on call CAREGiver. In 2019, Condoleezza was promoted to Recruitment and Retention Coordinator.

She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She started her career as a CNA in 1983 and has enjoyed every moment being around senior citizens. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and hanging out with her son whenever he comes to town. Her hobbies are drawing, painting, knitting, reading, walking and occasionally working out.

Tamika Dent, Lead Staffing Coordinator

Tamika has been with Home Instead since October 2020.  She has over 15 years in Customer Service as well as Health and Rehabilitation Administration field. She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Tamika is the mother of two daughters, one daughter is in the Military and her other daughter is a Social Worker. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the moves, and spending time with her pet rabbit Walley, who is also a big part of her family.

Matthew Seals, Staffing Coordinator

Matthew has been with Home Instead since 2009, first as on-call staffing coordinator and now he is the on-site staffing coordinator team. Matthew has three children that keep him busy. His oldest son is in an officer in the Army. His other two children live locally. Matthew is a proud "Pappi" to his sweet granddaughter, Tilli. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys watching movies and Alabama football.

Janet Wallace, Staffing Coordinator

Janet Wallace has been with Home Instead since 2012, has an extensive background in the senior care industry as director of assisted living facilities, and comes from a long line of caregivers in her family. She has a passion for serving the elderly and their families by helping them maintain as much independence as possible. She takes pride in being a “matchmaker” by finding the best possible caregiver for each client.

Janet has two daughters and three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys playing bridge, cooking, theater, and traveling (especially cruising).​

Anthony Davis, On-Call Staffing Coordinator

Anthony joined Home Instead in Summer 2019 as an on-call staffing coordinator. Anthony grew up on the Oregon Coast and served in the Air Force for 6 years. After moving to Alabama from Alaska, Anthony transitioned into being a stay-at-home dad to his three rambunctious children. He is an avid disc golf player and die-hard Denver Broncos fan!

Kelly Bennett, On-Call Staffing Coordinator

Kelly Bennett, On-Call Staffing Coordinator

After serving in the military for eight years, she returned to Birmingham to work in the Worker's Comp field. She came to work as our On-Call Staffing Coordinator in July 2015. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her two nieces, volunteering with the Shelby County Humane Society and back country hiking.​

Coretha Smith, On-Call Staffing Coordinator

Coretha Smith joined Home Instead in 2009 as a Staffing Coordinator. She resigned in 2011 to further her education where she attended Faulkner University and obtained her graduate degree, Masters of Science in Management in 2012. In August 2015, she rejoined our team as On-Call Staffing Coordinator. Coretha has two beautiful daughters, Destinee and Renardia. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and vacationing at the beach.

Sandra Caldwell, Marketing

Sandi Caldwell joined the Home Instead Team February 2021. She has been in the healthcare industry for 29 years serving patients and their families throughout the State of Alabama and Western North Carolina. A graduate of Auburn University, June 1992 with a BS in Rehabilitation, Sandi bleeds Orange and Blue. Her family, Caldwell~Party of 3, moved to Birmingham Fall 2013. She and her husband Clark, were Blessed with their son, Edward in 2010. They were told by 6 medical doctors in 3 states they would never be able to have a child. Then God said, “Watch Me”! Sandi has served her church in Children’s Ministry as a Sunday Nursery Supervisor, Sunday School Teacher, and Vacation Bible School Teacher. Born and raised in Lowndes County on a Family Farm, Sandi enjoys outside adventuresome activities! She excels in feeding cows and riding a motorcycle on Holladay Farms!

Ginny Landrum, Receptionist

Ginny joined Home Instead as a receptionist in September 2019. She is a retired educator and taught Spanish, English and ESL for over 30 years.  She enjoys spending time with her sons Steve and David and their families, it is one of her favorite things to do.  Her three grandsons Hal, Sam and Hayes keep her entertained and they are such a blessing to her.  She enjoys watching basketball, baseball and football and going to concerts.

Hannah Pahos, Receptionist

Hannah joined Home Instead as a receptionist in 2020. She grew up in Vestavia and graduated from The University of Alabama in 2020 with a degree in psychology. She minored in creative media and loves movies! In her free time, she loves playing with her dog Hazel, spending time with family and friends, and cooking. She also enjoys a good book.
