Home Instead® Green Bay Fills Growing Need During Pandemic

Feb. 10, 2021 (Green Bay, Wis.) — While the COVID-19 pandemic took a debilitating toll on many industries, home care saw greater demand. The need for care grew among our aging population, as older adults increasingly quarantined at home to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection and transmission.

Angela Shinners, general manager of Home Instead® Green Bay, was recently interviewed by WBAY (local ABC affiliate) on this very topic. She said that the industry experienced growth for several reasons, including older adults needing companionship and socialization as well as family members moving their aging loved ones out of assisted living facilities. She added that, after operations, many hospitals were discharging patients directly to home, necessitating the need for additional in-home support.
