Stephen Lair, Franchise Owner

Stephen Lair, Franchise Owner

​Stephen Lair is the franchise owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Chapel Hill. He was selected as a member of the E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in 2009 and has been twice chosen as one of WCHL's Hometown Hero Village Pride Award recipients. As an Eagle Scout, Stephen has always had a passion for the outdoors and is heavily involved as a leader with the local Boy Scouts of America. Stephen has served as host for a variety of local events such as the Alzheimer's Walk, the National Parkinsons Foundation's Moving Day and Wreaths Across America. Each year, he coordinates several different community service campaigns such as Mission Medicine, Salute To Senior Service and Be A Santa To A Senior. Stephen is also a highly sought after speaker, singer, emcee and auctioneer. As a local expert on aging, Stephen has made appearances on Time Warner Cable News, WCHL, UNCTV, WNCN, WCHL and iHeartradio. A few years ago, Stephen and his wife, Cher, made national news when the video of their gender reveal party went viral. Their story was featured on Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, The Today Show, CNN and Inside Edition to name a few. The front page story which recounted the events in the News and Observer was the third most circulated story of 2015 and the most clicked online content in the history of all McClatchy news markets. The hubbub from the video eventually landed them a guest spot on the Ellen Show in April of 2015. They have seven remarkable sons and one daughter: Jackson, Campbell, Sawyer, Houston, Shepherd, Knox, Fisher and Ruby.

Alvonia Baldwin, General Manager

Alvonia has worked in nearly every facet of senior care imaginable. She appreciates and understands the value of a home care better than most. As the General Manager, she works to make sure all aspects of our operations are consistent with our core values, our culture, and our "CAREGiver first" approach. She challenges the administrative to always work to become the best possible versions of themselves. Among the administrative team, we phrase our intentions for our CAREGivers very simply- We want to love our people well. Alvonia makes sure that happens for our office family too.

Judy Fitzpatrick, Home Care Consultant

Judy joined the Home Instead family in 2018 and is a force to be reckoned with in our local community. Understanding the needs of her own aging family and as a previous caregiver for her mother, Judy has a personal understanding of the need for quality in-home care. She is passionately dedicated to educating the community about the value of aging at home and maintaining independence. Judy has an innate ability to connect the dots for clients, families, and local providers in order to provide a highly personalized experience. Her ardent belief in what we stand for empowers her to make a difference in the lives of our clients, their families, and our caregivers.​
Colleen Robinson

Colleen Robinson- Client Care Coordinator

When it comes to in-home care, it is easy to make promises. Colleen's primary function is to make sure that we keep our promises. Through our extensive Quality Assurance (QA) program, Colleen works proactively to make sure that every member of our Home Instead family receives the caliber of service for which we are known. She is the key point of contact for all our seniors and their families.

Kimberly is a Home Instead success story if ever there was one. Kim started with Home Instead as a caregiver and is now tasked with finding, training, and retaining the greatest group of compassionate hearts around. We use the word "family" when describing our work environment and Kimberly is an essential part of keeping that promise.

You'll never know where you are going to find Tracey on any given day. From caregiving, to staffing, to introducing new caregivers and their clients, to fielding phone calls on the weekend, Tracey does it all. Tracey didn't go looking for a career in eldercare but when she saw an opportunity to make a difference at Home Instead Senior Care she took it and has never looked back.
Berni Miner

Berni Miner- Service Coordinator

Bernadette (Berni for short), is one of the newest members of our Home Instead family. She and Tracey work hand-in-hand to make sure our caregivers are successful with every family we serve. That work is much bigger than just placing names on a schedule. It encompasses new caregiver introductions, effectively communicating plans of care, and follow-up calls after a match has been made.
Lisa Vook, RN Supervisor

Lisa Vook, RN Supervisor

​As Nurse Supervisor, Lisa is responsible for training our wonderful caregivers on the personal care tasks needed in many situations. She monitors regulatory compliance and works with our new families to develop their personalized care plans.
