Meet Our Home Care Team

Matt Lenart, Franchise Owner

Matt is the Franchise Owner of Home Instead. Matt has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Matt served in the United States Army as a Lieutenant deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Matt’s family has been involved in the senior care industry for over two decades. Matt started his journey with Home Instead by opening the Uniontown, PA franchise in 2014; five years later Matt opened a franchise in Morgantown, WV. Matt continued his journey and acquired the Home Instead franchise in Export, PA, in 2024 which he subsequently relocated to Greensburg, PA, and he is now also the owner of the Oakmont, PA franchise.

Matt’s belief is that everyone should have the opportunity to age with dignity and grace in the comfort of their home. Matt is known for his genuine care for both the clients served and the employees who support them. The team at Home Instead aspires to enhance the lives of aging adults and their families under Matt’s dedicated leadership and guidance.

Joyce Mertz 1

Joyce Mertz, General Manager

Joyce joined the team as General Manager in the Uniontown office in 2021 and assumed the additional role of General Manager of the Morgantown, WV office in 2024. She has 39 years of experience in the health care industry including home care, home health care, private duty skilled and unskilled care, facility staffing, and hospice services in various positions ranging from Community Liaison to Administrator. Joyce is responsible for the growth and development of the franchise along with the operations. Joyce is a strong leader who is compassionate and committed to providing quality care services to seniors in the community while maintaining a professional, well-trained team of Care Professionals. Joyce has devoted a lifetime to helping others in the community.

Dee McGee

Dee McGee, Client Care Coordinator

Dee joined the team as Director of Training and Compliance in 2021 and has since moved to the role of Client Care Coordinator in the Morgantown, WV office. Dee has 46 years of experience working as a nurse in the health care industry including critical care, emergency room care, air transport and wound care, triage, community health clinics, traveling nurse, home health care and hospice. Dee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Management from the University of Saint Francis and a Diploma in Nursing from Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing.

Dee is responsible for conducting client care consultations and providing ongoing quality assurance with both clients and Care Professionals. Dee’s expertise plays a significant role in the quality of care being delivered to clients daily. She is loyal, committed, and willing to help connect clients and their families with additional resources to improve their quality of life. Dee has devoted her life to helping others as a professional in the medical community.

Rita Richards 1

Rita Richards, Service Coordinator

Rita joined the team in 2023 as Service Coordinator with 24 years of experience as a scheduler in the health care industry including home care, home health care, facility staffing, and private duty skilled and unskilled services. She has 50 years of experience in the health care industry ranging from Caregiver to Unit Clerk in the NICU and Emergency Departments of local hospitals. Rita’s knowledge of caregiving adds another layer of compassion to ensuring that clients receive the care they need and Care Professionals have the schedules that support successful, consistent care.

Brandy Likens, Business Development Advisor

Brandy joined the Morgantown Office team in 2026 as the Business Development Advisor. She earned a diploma for Licensed Practical Nurse from Randolph County Vocational Technical School. Brandy has 24 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the health care industry including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health care, and hospice. Brandy’s positions ranged from Charge Nurse to Hospital Nurse Liaison. Brandy’s broad work background contributes to her success as a dedicated home care specialist striving to meet the needs of clients and their families while developing a territory for services. Brandy is kind and willing to recommend resources to improve the quality of life of those in need.

Lauren Malec 1

Lauren Malec

Lauren joined the team in 2023 as the Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator with 7 years of experience as a recruiter in the health care industry including home care, home health care, facility staffing, and private duty skilled and unskilled services. Lauren earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania Highland’s Community College. Lauren’s friendly and approachable demeanor ensures that all candidates are informed and guided from the time of application through the hiring process. Lauren is committed to building a strong team of skilled, compassionate Care Professionals who can deliver exceptional care to clients.

David Hicks 1

David Hicks

David joined the Morgantown Office team in 2022 as a Care Professional and was promoted in 2023 to the Human Resources Department. He has experience as a General Manager of a commercial warehouse facility responsible for overseeing the growth, development, hiring, and daily operations. David has 4 years of experience in human resources focusing on recruiting, hiring, administering benefits, and payroll. David utilizes his caregiving experience to ensure that all Care Professionals have the tools needed to provide safe, compassionate care. David is committed to supporting the Care Professional staff as they progress through their journey with Home Instead.

Heather Urban 1

Heather Urban

Heather joined the team in 2022 as the Billing and Payroll Specialist. Heather has 15 years of experience in the health care industry including working as an Internal Account Representative and Administrative Assistant supporting billing. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Slippery Rock University. Heather plays a crucial role ensuring the smooth transition of billing to clients and their families. She is committed to working diligently to ensure accuracy and direct communication to answer any questions that may arise. Heather maintains professionalism and clarity when handling payroll timeliness and while addressing any concerns from internal and external staff.
