Dillon Rice first became acquainted with Home Instead^® as a family member of senior loved ones who needed help several years ago. Dillon has a tender heart for seniors, and his compassion later steered Dillon toward senior care. On Aug. 1, 2020, Dillon and a good friend, Pietro Jordao, became co-owners of the award-winning Home Instead franchise in Victoria, Texas.

Dillon pops in and out on his grandparents regularly to check on them. Dillon’s parents have been living abroad for his father’s job as a corporate lawyer, and Dillon said: “It is not easy for my parents to come back, especially during the pandemic. I have tried to help out where I can. At the very least, I’ve paid attention to what’s going on.” Read More

Pietro Jordao has a special connection with his grandmother. He calls her every morning, asks how she’s doing and wishes her well during their usually brief conversations. If Pietro could swing by his grandmother’s home and give her a hug each day, he would. But she lives in Brazil.

“My grandmother is one of the biggest reasons I decided to become a Home Instead^® franchise co-owner with Dillon Rice,” said Pietro, who teamed up with Dillon to purchase the award-winning Home Instead franchise in Victoria, Texas, on Aug. 1, 2020, from Stephanie Niles and Chris Baughman. Perhaps helping with her grandparents’ care was a preview of things to come for Tracey Trevino, who joined Home Instead® of Victoria and became the award-winning franchise’s client care coordinator/marketer in February 2022.

“I was very close to my grandparents, some of whom have passed. I helped take care of them until their passing. I understand what taking care of a senior loved one is like, and I am very passionate about seeing our company do its best to help each client,” said Tracey, who serves as the liaison between Home Instead and its clients. Recruiting and Retention Coordinator Maegan Coldewey's mantra can be boiled down to "work hard, never stop learning and don't be afraid to reach for greater things." Maegan also believes self-pity is a waste of time and energy.

"As a perfectionist, I am harder on myself than any boss could ever be. I'm also big on sharing duties. Just because I was hired for a position doesn't mean that's all I do. I will help anyone and learn every position if I can," said Maegan, a highly regarded problem-solver. "You will encounter challenges.
