Our Social Purpose

Our social purpose starts right here in the Black Hills.

At Home Instead of the Black Hills, we believe every older adult deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, independence, and connection — in the place they call home. We also believe families deserve clarity, support, and peace of mind as they navigate aging and care decisions.

That belief drives our commitment to strengthen our local capacity to care. We invest in Care Professionals through training, support, and career growth, and we work alongside community partners to help more older adults remain safe and supported at home.

This vision drives us to expand the world’s capacity to care.

Giving Back

At Home Instead of the Black Hills, giving back is part of who we are. We believe older adults deserve to age with dignity, connection, and support, and we are committed to strengthening the community around them.

Our team proudly supports local events and organizations that make the Black Hills stronger for every generation. This includes sponsoring the ALS Walk, supporting the Oyate Senior Prom, and partnering with a variety of local youth groups and community initiatives.

One of our most meaningful traditions is GratiTuesday — celebrated each year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. On that day, we share Thanksgiving meals with our clients, welcome those who are able to join us at the office, and provide meals for our Care Pros as a way to express appreciation and gratitude. It’s a time to slow down, come together, and remind one another that care goes beyond tasks — it’s about connection.

Because when a community cares well for its older adults — and those who serve them — everyone benefits.
