At Home Instead, we walk alongside so many families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer’s and dementia. That’s why attending this year’s 15th Annual Dancing with The ARK’s Stars event was so meaningful. This fundraiser supports The ARK - Alzheimer’s Family Support Services and the many programs they offer at no cost to caregivers in our community.
The event was held at the Lowcountry Conference Center and featured local personalities who swapped their day jobs for dancing shoes and put on stunning performances alongside professional dancers from Ballroom Dance Charleston. After weeks of rehearsals, each duo took to the floor to raise funds for Alzheimer’s caregiver support. It was impossible not to be moved by the passion that radiated from every performance.
The ARK’s Executive Director, Peg Lahmeyer, was awarded the prestigious Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor, in recognition of her lifetime of service to families facing Alzheimer’s and dementia. Her dedication has helped provide vital programs such as caregiver consultations, resource referrals, educational classes, and support groups that are a lifeline for so many in our community.
We are proud to be part of a community that rallies together for such an important cause. As we strive to provide the best home care in Summerville, we will continue to support organizations like The ARK that help those with Alzheimer's and dementia.
