As the Home Instead team was looking for local activities, Captain Daniell's Pipers caught our eye as a way for seniors to step out of their comfort zones and learn a new skill. We love spotlighting groups like this because having a weekly routine is super important for senior wellness.
The group meets every Tuesday from 2 to 3pm at the Daniel Island Library, 2301 Daniel Island Dr. Whether you’ve played for years or don't know a Medieval recorder from a Baroque one, all are welcome to join this beginner-friendly circle. It’s a low-pressure environment where you can practice, share tips, and explore the history of these unique instruments alongside other music-loving adults in the community.
Sticking to a regular weekly hobby does wonders for mental health. It gives you something to look forward to on the calendar and a chance to catch up with friends. The next meeting is Tuesday, December 30th, so if you're interested, give this group a try!
