Matt Fishing

Matt Lenart, Owner

Matt Lenart began his Home Instead journey in 2014 when he opened the Uniontown, PA franchise. Five years later, he expanded operations into Morgantown, WV. In 2023, Matt began transitioning ownership of the Oakmont franchise, previously led by his mother, Kathi Lenart, who now serves as Chairman. As a Greensburg native, Matt further strengthened his commitment to the region by acquiring the Greensburg office in December 2024.

Prior to joining Home Instead, Matt served as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He earned his undergraduate degree in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Matt’s family has been dedicated to the senior care industry for over two decades. “We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to age with dignity and grace in the comfort of their own home. Our aspiration is to provide the very best care experience for the communities we are privileged to serve.”

In Memory - Cheryl Stawovy

In Memory, Cheryl Stawovy

Cheryl was the late co-owner of the Oakmont Home Instead franchise and one of the visionary leaders who helped establish its presence in the community. In 2008, Cheryl and her sister, Kathi Lenart, purchased the franchise, which was then located in a Monroeville office building. Recognizing the need for a more visible and permanent home to serve families throughout Allegheny County’s northeast suburbs, they relocated the office in 2009 to its current location on Allegheny Avenue in downtown Oakmont — a move that helped solidify Home Instead’s roots in the community.

In late 2011, Cheryl was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a particularly aggressive and less common form of the disease. She faced her diagnosis with remarkable courage and strength. Despite her valiant fight, Cheryl passed away on January 11, 2013, at the age of 52. She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother of three, sister, business leader, and friend whose compassion and determination continue to inspire those who knew her.

Following her diagnosis, Cheryl’s colleagues and friends organized fundraisers to support her and others impacted by breast cancer. From those efforts, the Cheryl Kay Foundation was established. Though the foundation has since dissolved, through 2025 it provided meaningful support to countless breast cancer survivors and families affected by the disease. Cheryl’s legacy of service, generosity, and heart remains deeply woven into the fabric of our organization and the community she helped build.

Kathi Lenart - Owner

Kathi Lenart, Chairman

Like so many in senior care, Kathi’s journey began with a deeply personal experience. After years of living with her aunt and family, a decision was made to move her grandmother into a personal care home. Kathi’s mother felt strongly that Grandma should remain at home and welcomed her in, believing that caring for her while working from home in the family business would be manageable. It quickly became clear how demanding 24/7 caregiving truly is.

What her mother hadn’t anticipated was the emotional and physical weight of constant responsibility. She could no longer leave the house freely or enjoy the simple routines of life — golfing, lunches with friends, evenings out with her husband. The isolation and exhaustion were overwhelming, and the entire family felt the strain. During that time, an advertisement for a Home Instead franchise appeared in their local newspaper. It represented the very support and respite their family had needed.

In September 2008, Kathi and her sister Cheryl purchased the Oakmont franchise — a decision that would shape not only their professional paths, but the lives of countless families in the community. Through their leadership, they built an organization grounded in compassion, dignity, and person-centered care — the kind of care their own family once searched for.

Kathi retired at the end of 2025, leaving behind a remarkable legacy. Her vision and heart continue to guide our team today. The compassionate, relationship-driven culture that defines our office is a direct reflection of her leadership and unwavering belief that every individual deserves to age with respect, grace, and support in the place they call home.

When you or a loved one is ready for help, our dedicated team is here — ready to listen, answer questions, and provide care tailored to your family’s unique needs. We are proud to carry forward the standard of excellence Kathi established and to serve our community with the same heart that started it all.
