Franchise Owner

​Vesna Parks has owned and operated Home Instead of Northeast Rochester since 2004. Vesna became interested in starting a Home Instead franchise after watching her parents struggle with finding companion care for her grandparents. "One of the most rewarding aspects of this job is helping family's make the perfect match with a Care Professional who can help them". Prior to this, she had 10 years of working experience in various non-profit organizations, focusing primarily on educational programming. Vesna holds a Masters Degree from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree from Ithaca College. She lives with her husband and two children in Rochester.

Kristen Treadway

Kristen Treadway

Director of Operations

After working as a retail store manager for 12 years, Kristen decided to follow her passion and work with seniors. Kristen realized the enjoyment she got out of helping the seniors in her own family and wanted to be able to share that with other seniors as well. It is very important to Kristen to love where you work, who you work with and what you do and feels very fortunate to have found all three at Home Instead. Kristen joined our office in 2006 and has completed the Train the Trainer program through the Alzheimer's Association which allows her to educate our Care Professionals on Alzheimer's and Dementia Care. Kristen lives with her husband, son and two dogs in Webster.

Laura Swarthout

RN-PMH-BC, Director of Patient Services

Laura knew at age 7 that she wanted to be a nurse. Laura has been able to live that dream for over 30 years. In her career she has worked in the hospitals, home care, Hospice, ARC, Case Management positions and in mental health achieving her Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Board Certification. Laura has always been an advocate for the underserved and misrepresented. Laura lives in Newark with her husband, has one son, 2 twin daughters and a stepdaughter. Laura's favorite thing is spending time with her family.

Marchelle Orbaker

Human Resources Manager

Marchelle joined Home Instead in 2022. She has been in the Health Care field for 20 years. Caring for others has always been her passion. She has worked in various settings: hospital, nursing home, home health care aid and with the mentally and physically disabled. Marchelle is currently in the process of earning her RN so she can continue to help others. Marchelle and her husband have raised 4 beautiful children and have 5 grandchildren. Marchelle enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs and watching the Dallas Cowboys play. She would love more time to go Horseback riding, swimming, hiking, and dancing.

Sally Stapley- Client Care Coordinator

Sally is a human services professional who has specialized in leading programs that support older adults for almost 30 years. She joined Home Instead in 2018 and worked in Human Resources, hiring, training, and supervising Care Professionals. After a brief hiatus, Sally returned to Home Instead, this time working more closely with Clients and their Families, assuring their needs are met and that they receive exceptional customer service. Sally lives in Fairport with her husband John. She is the mother of one adult daughter, and has a growing step-family that includes grands! Sally is a collector of quotes, loves coffee, houseplants, hiking, and the Buffalo Bills.

Karen Meerdink

Service Coordinator

Karen joined Home Instead in 2022 with over 25 years office and management related experience. An Alum of Jamestown Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology, Karen's varied background includes paid and volunteer work in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, religious organizations and schools.

Dena Mackay

Service Coordinator

Dena joined Home Instead in 2022 as a Care Professional after a longtime career in retail. As a Care Professional, she received employee of the month and was eager to grow and decided to become a Personal Care Aide. As a Personal Care Aide, she was able to better understand the ever-changing needs of our clients. After almost 2 years of working one on one with clients, Dena became one of our service coordinators and continues to provide quality care in a new way to Home Instead clients and families. Dena has always loved seniors and they hold a very special place in her heart.

Michele Celeste

Michele Celeste

Administrative Assistant

​Michele joined Home Instead in 2019 after a long successful career as an HR Generalist and Recruiter. Her responsibilities in this role included recruiting, hiring and on-boarding new employees as well as employee relations and customer service. Michele is passionate about the elderly after caring for her own parents. In her spare time, Michele enjoys spending time with her grown sons and their families, going to basketball games and cheerleading competitions for her grandchildren. Michele lives in Fairport, NY with her husband and their West Highland Terrier, "Maxie".
