Owner

Evelyn has been the proud owner of Home Instead of Essex & Union Counties for 27 years! Evelyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has more than 35 years of experience working with older adults. Before owning Home Instead, Evelyn served as Director of Eldercare Services at Jewish Family Services of Central NJ, Director of Older Adult Services at the Jewish Community Center of Staten Island, and as a social worker at Maimonides Medical Center. She received her Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University-Wurzweiler School of Social Work in NYC and her Bachelor of Science from SUNY Albany. As the founder and owner of Home Instead of Essex & Union Counties in New Jersey since 1999, Evelyn is proud to have made a difference in the lives of thousands of individuals and their families. Home Instead has given her the opportunity to combine her professional skills, her respect for older people, and her wish to be a successful entrepreneur. Evelyn lives in Millburn and is the proud mother of 3 adult children. In her time away from work Evelyn loves to entertain, spend time with friends and family, and travel.

As our Hiring Manager, Eliza's focus is on recruiting and retaining the top CARE PROfessional talent in our community to join our amazing team! Eliza is also tasked with finding new candidates for our CARE PROfessional training course to become NJ Certified Home Health Aides, and loves taking part in the professional journey of our trainee classes! Eliza received her BA in Psychology, and her MA in Organizational Behavior and Development. Director of Training and Retention

Chris is the former Owner of the Home Instead franchise office in Bergen County, NJ and has nearly 20 years of homecare experience. Chris fully recognizes the importance of training and developing staff to provide the best care. In addition, Chris is an advisor to the Board of Directors at Homecare Association of America's New Jersey Chapter and regularly meet with local legislators to advocate for the home care industry and senior community. He is committed to improving the quality of home care for all seniors. Chris is an avid Mets fan, runner, and loves spending time with his family.

Office Administrator, Care Pro Engagement Coordinator

Charlene has been part of our Home Instead team for 18 years, and an office administrator for over 30 years. Charlene’s smile brightens every room - when it comes to helping others, her passion shines! In addition to her 20 years of experience working in a law firm, Charlene has also managed to fit 10 years of caregiving into her schedule. At Home Instead, Charlene has become a source of compassion and knowledge to Care Pros and clients alike. Her responsibilities include onboarding new Care Professionals and ongoing supervision for our Care Pro team. Charlene's invaluable insight and assistance help our Care Pros become the best in their fields, resulting in unmatched service and satisfied clients. In her downtime, Charlene likes to crochet, craft, and spend time with her family. She makes shawls, clothes for babies, and blankets for her loved ones and anyone in need.

Service Coordinator

Daniela, our Service Coordinator at Home Instead, manages all our clients’ and Care Pros’ scheduling needs. She does this by getting to know each client and Care Pro so that she can provide person-centered direct support, and match clients with a Care Pro that meets their needs. Daniela strives to be resourceful and creative while working effectively and efficiently to solve problems, while ensuring our clients’ needs are clearly understood, communicated, and met. This is no easy task – she’s truly a puzzle master! Daniela is a proud mother of two kids and one pup. When not at work, Daniela enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, shopping and cleaning.

Director of Nursing

Katherine is our Director of Nursing, with decades of experience in medicine and business. A caring and reliable person, she strives to build a strong rapport with everyone. Committed to making patients and clients more informed and comfortable during their care, Kat is always willing to help and go the extra mile. She creates an environment of the highest quality, managing and developing our team of Care Pros while providing excellent client-focused care. An avid runner and yogi, Kat is a big proponent of a healthy lifestyle. She supports local farmers and dabbles in some backyard gardening of her own, enjoying fresh, in-season fruit and vegetables as much as possible. While not at work, Katherine loves spending time with her family, reading and traveling.

Janine Dela Cruz brings nearly a decade of healthcare recruitment experience to the Home Instead team. Holding a degree in General Psychology, she has built her career supporting clients across the U.S., with a focus on placing both travel healthcare professionals and compassionate caregivers in home care settings. At Home Instead, Janine manages the full recruitment cycle, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for every candidate. Janine is highly proficient in a variety of recruitment and HR platforms and is passionate about connecting dedicated caregivers with families in need of reliable, high-quality home care. Outside of work, Janine enjoys relaxing by watching videos online and spending time with friends and family while trying out new restaurants.

Originally from the UK, Patricia started with Home Instead in 2010. First as a Care Pro, then Schedule Coordinator for 5 years. We are lucky to have Patricia back, working with our recruitment and hiring team. Patricia feels passionate about working with aging adults, and finds it especialy rewarding when clients and Care Pros are happy with their match. In her free time Patricia enjoys watching black and white movies – especially old british movies, going for walks, and spending time with her family.
