At Home Instead, our hearts go out to the families we serve, especially those navigating the journey of memory loss. This past week, we visited The Greens of Lincolnton to share in the spirit of the season with a very special mission.
We spent the afternoon decorating a beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby, with shades of purple as a tribute to everyone in our community who is currently fighting or has lost their battle with Alzheimer’s. Purple is the signature color of Alzheimer’s awareness because it blends the calm stability of blue (for those living with the disease) and the passionate energy of red (for the unrelenting fight). It symbolizes strength, hope, and support in the battle against dementia.
The holidays can be a bittersweet time when a loved one is living with dementia. When your loved one needs home care in Lincolnton, NC, our goal is always to create moments of joy and connection. If you are a caregiver navigating the holidays this year, remember that you don't have to do this alone.
Thank you to The Greens of Lincolnton for inviting us to dress a tree in honor of those with Alzheimer's.
