Patricia’s journey to care giving didn’t begin with a job title—it began with a pull toward more meaningful work. Before joining Home Instead, she spent years cleaning homes and working in retail. For nearly three decades, she cleaned with care and intention, followed by a rapid rise through the ranks in retail. Promotions came quickly, but the lifestyle wasn’t the right fit. It was conversations with friends that gently nudged her toward elder care—stories about connection, purpose, and the kind of work that stays with you long after clocking out. She gave it a try and instantly knew this is where she belonged.

Patricia views care giving as more than just a shift. As a dedicated care professional, walking into someone’s home is an opportunity to lift a spirit, ease a burden, or simply be present. She understands that her role often provides not only support for the client, but much-needed respite for families and loved ones. She leads with empathy and compassion, believing that kindness is the richest thing one person can offer another. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: be the best version of yourself, treat others how you’d want to be treated, and never underestimate the impact of a gentle word or a helping hand.

One example from her early experience reflects her thoughtful approach. Patricia developed a relationship with a client in the early stages of dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease. She recognized that the individual had not been getting outside the home to engage with others. With this insight, Patricia took her client and her beloved dog on an outing to a nearby dog park. There, they enjoyed watching the dog run freely while sharing meaningful conversation. This simple but intentional moment fostered connection, dignity, and joy—laying the foundation for a relationship that continued to strengthen over time.

Patricia has a natural warmth that draws people in—she truly makes friends wherever she goes. Whether she’s walking into a new client’s home or picking up the phone, her presence is unmistakably uplifting. Just hearing her greet you with a cheerful, heartfelt “hello” can brighten your day. It’s not just friendliness—it’s the genuine energy she brings into every interaction that sets her apart. Her outgoing nature helps clients feel at ease from the very beginning, even when they’re hesitant or unsure about receiving care.
