I needed to go out of town for a couple of weeks and Home Instead was recommended to us by my mom's in-home physical therapist. Our first interaction we had was with Tess, the client care coordinator. She came over to meet with us and learn what specific care services we were looking for and was budget friendly for our needs. My mom has difficulty walking and uses a walker full time. Tess matched her up perfectly with Marcia. Marcia drove her to the grocery store as well as other errands. She did some meal prep, light houskeeping, and was a friendly companion for my mom to talk with. Marcia took GREAT care of my mom and they got along famously! Marcia and Tess left us thrilled with our last experience, we hired them again a couple months later. I had surgery and was unable to help my mom with an upcoming move into a senior living building. With the different types and level of assistance Home Instead provides, we were able to hire them again! We hired a company to pack, load, and unload my moms belongings. We just needed at least 3 days help from Home Instead with unpacking and putting items away in her new apartment, no heavy lifting. Marcia was able to help with one day and Tess matched my mom up again perfectly with Mary for the other two days! These two ladies were fantastic and went above and beyond helping my mom! We will definately hire Home Instead again and I know Tess will match us with the perfect nurse or assistant if Marcia or Mary are unavailable. Thank you Tess, Marcia, and Mary. You three are true angels!

I find Tammy Yard to be very smart and efficient. Since I have become legally blind, she does so much of what I used to do on the computer and much, much more. Her errands and shopping are fast and efficient. I have yet to have to return something that was bought in error. Tammy helps to remind me of things that need to be done and appointments to keep. She is a great driver. We have never been lost or late to an appointment.

Caregiver Denise from Home Instead in Norwell is helpful, caring, gentle, attentive and everything you would expect in a home care person. She keeps me organized, on-time and reminds me of things I forget. She also gets me to eat which was a main reason I hired someone.

Home Instead Norwell was really great when my wife was injured. They were so easy to work with and very flexible on schedule. The caregivers were excellent, not only did they help my wife but they also helped around the house and with our young daughter. I'm not sure what we would have done without them .The whole team was fantastic but I'd like to give a special shout out to Jenna for being so amazing, she'll be a great nurse!

The Home Instead's care givers, specifically Antonide and Debbie, were simply amazing at caring for our elderly family member. He had complex medical issues and required a level of care that increased exponentially as his disease progressed. We could always rely on our Home Instead caregivers to keep him safe and make him comfortable. He recently passed away and it was very comforting to our family to have had both Debbie and Antonide on duty the day he died. They are both really incredible people who have a calling in life to care for the sick and elderly. Our family will be forever grateful to everyone at Home Instead.

- Challenges with bathing, dressing, or mobility
- Increased forgetfulness or signs of memory loss
- Withdrawal from social activities
- Stacks of unopened mail or unpaid bills

Still unsure? A care consultation is a great place to start. We'll listen, answer your questions, and help you explore your options—with no pressure or obligation.
Here's when home care might be the right step:
- You're juggling caregiving with work, family, and your own well-being
- Your loved one's needs are growing beyond what you can manage alone
- You're noticing signs of burnout, frustration, or fatigue
- You want a consistent, trusted partner to rely on
Home Instead Care Pros provide support that fits your routine—not the other way around. Whether it's meal prep, a walk, or help getting to appointments, our care is designed to enhance—not replace—your role.
You don't have to wait for a crisis. Most families who start care with us say they wish they had done it sooner.
There's no one-size-fits-all answer—but if your loved one wants to stay in their own home, in-home care can be the most personal, flexible, and reassuring option.
In-home care vs. assisted living
Assisted living can be great for those who want a communal setting and are ready to relocate. But if your loved one wants to stay at home, in-home care offers:
- One-on-one attention in familiar surroundings
- A flexible schedule that fits your lifestyle
- Support with meals, mobility, personal care, and companionship
- Help from Care Pros who get to know your loved one—building trust and routine
In-home care vs. hiring a private caregiver
Hiring an independent caregiver can seem less expensive—but it comes with risk. As the employer, you'd be responsible for payroll, insurance, and coverage when they can't show up.
With Home Instead, we handle everything:
- Professional hiring, training, and supervision
- Background checks, insurance, and 24/7 backup support
- Personalized matches and no long-term contracts
In-home care is all about helping your loved one stay independent, comfortable, and safe—right in the place they know and love. From simple companionship to specialized dementia support, our Care Pros are here to help make life easier.

It's care on your terms. Ready to get started?
At Home Instead, we don't just send a caregiver—we introduce you to a Care Pro. It's a title we take seriously, because our team members bring more than just help—they bring heart, consistency, and respect for the life your loved one has built.
Here's what sets our Norwell Care Pros apart:
- They're trained and trustworthy. Each Care Pro goes through a thorough background check, drug screening, and extensive training—including how to support Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and chronic health conditions.
- They're employees—not contractors. That means we handle taxes, scheduling, and supervision. We also provide liability insurance and workers' comp, so you're fully protected.
- They're matched with care. We take time to match each Care Pro based on your loved one's personality, preferences, and needs. It's not just about filling a shift—it's about building a relationship.
- They show up, and we've got your back. If your regular Care Pro can't make it, we'll send a qualified backup—no scrambling on your end. Our 24/7 support line means help is always a call away.
