Most of my career has been spent in manufacturing, creating high-quality products and leading teams. Yet I was always drawn to service-focused organizations—places where you can see the impact of your work firsthand and know you are making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. When I discovered Home Instead, the connection was immediate. I have a parent in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, and I’ve seen personally how challenging this journey can be for both individuals and their families. Having experienced that need for support, compassion, and trust, I knew this work mattered.
After getting to know the Home Instead Lexington team and the passion they bring to caring for seniors, I was confident this was the right fit. I am committed to supporting our caregivers and ensuring every family we serve feels respected, supported, and confident in the care their loved ones receive.
Brent Stephens, General Manager
It's personal to me because as a former CAREGiver I experienced first-hand the joy that can be had in developing loving, caring relationships with our clients. I was amazed at the life events in which they had encountered and lived through. Seniors have much to share and so much can be learned from just simply asking questions and listening. As an organization we have the opportunity to be a bright, shining light for good in Central Kentucky. We do this by providing compassionate and committed care that helps our clients stay in their homes longer, and continue to live rich, fulfilling lives.
Stacey Osborne, RN - Client Care Coordinator
Its personal to me because my grandmother was fortunate to have an in-home caregiver. She developed an instant bond with Peggy. My grandmother loved to cook and bake. They began baking birthday cakes for the monthly birthday parties at her independent living facility. Grandmother became known as the birthday cake lady. She was independent and very happy. There were less falls and less medical visits. Our family had peace of mind that grandmother was safe and thriving in her own home.

To me, it’s personal because I can go to work knowing that I am making a difference in other’s lives. Caring for those who once cared for us is an honor. I feel privileged to have the opportunity of doing my very best to help them stay in the place they call home.
Alicia Burnett, Service Manager
Why is it personal for ME? Well, its personal to me for countless reasons; I will share a few. My nature, as a human being, is that I'm a very caring and loving person (not to toot my own horn!). I love to help anyone that I can. It seriously warms my heart and makes me feel better as a person. Personally, I do not have any family of my own outside of my children. When helping others, I treat them and care for them as if they were my family. I have become a much better person, wholeheartedly, since becoming a caregiver and working in this field of business. I truly believe that caring for others is what GOD intended for me and I'm serving Him proudly!

I love being able to help others, and helping families find the right care pro to help their loved one. Caregiving is a sacred profession and it's a joy to help someone be able to live safely in their home.
Kathy Werner, Billing and A/R Specialist
My mom had Alzheimer’s. She was a woman that I had looked up to and admired my whole life…she had always taken care of others. She took care of not only her five children, but her mom, my grandfather and my aunt. I saw from an early age, how she treated them with love and compassion; never complaining.
When she developed Alzheimer’s and could no longer take care of herself or my aunt, I followed in her footsteps. I had learned from a great lady in how to treat others with dignity and respect. It gave me a sense of fulfillment, joy and peace to be able to give back to her and my aunt.
After they both had passed, I wanted to continue in helping others. I joined Home Instead and became a caregiver. I considered that to be an honor and a blessing to be able to help clients stay in their homes. They became like “family”. There is no better feeling knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life. That is what we are here to do!
