The Home Instead team found a unique event that invites you to pull up a chair and explore stories of family traditions, local history, and the women who helped build our neighborhoods through generations of community cookbooks. It's an event that's both educational and delicious.
On Wednesday, April 1st, the E. B. & Bertha C. Ball Center, 400 W. Minnetrista Blvd., is hosting "More than a Meal." The evening kicks off at 5pm with an exhibit featuring vintage cookbooks and aprons from local archives. You’ll then hear from a panel of historians who will explain how a simple recipe for a church social or family reunion can reveal deep insights into our county's history.
At 6:30pm, you'll enjoy a special dinner inspired by the very recipes found in these local archives. It’s a rare chance to literally taste history! Plus, thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, you can even pick up complimentary copies of selected books.
