The Home Instead team found a recurring local resource that provides that kind of support right here in Newburgh.
On the last Wednesday of every month, from 4 to 5pm, Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh, 9800 Outer Lincoln Ave, hosts a monthly Dementia Support Group led by Kristy Conway, a Memory Care Life Enrichment Coordinator.
These meetings are a safe space where you can share your experiences, ask questions, and learn ways to manage the daily ups and downs of dementia care. Research shows that caregivers who participate in support groups report lower levels of stress and a greater sense of confidence in their caregiving role.
We love spotlighting local events like this Dementia Support group to show that our community has a strong support system. While our caregivers are out providing the best home care in Newburgh, Indiana, we want to make sure you have access to the resources you need to stay strong and healthy, too.
