At Home Instead, we scout out local events to let local seniors know where they can get out, learn, and meet some new neighbors. We are excited to introduce a truly unique educational experience that brings the past to life: the Underground Railroad Spring Bus Tour.
On Sunday, April 26th, you can join storyteller guides dressed in authentic 19th-century attire for an immersive journey through sites of the Underground Railroad in Jacksonville, IL. The tour begins at Illinois College, 1159 Edgehill Rd, with registration confirmation starting at 12:30pm. After an introductory lecture at the historic Beecher Hall at 1pm, guests will board buses to visit eight sites, concluding at Woodlawn Farm. Light refreshments are provided, and the tour returns to the college by 5pm.
Reservations are required and can be made by calling 309-678-7716. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children aged 10 and under, with free parking available behind the McGaw Fine Arts Center.
