At Home Instead, we are always looking for ways to support the health of our neighbors, and March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, so we're spotlighting an upcoming event to get a free colorectal cancer at-home screening kit.
You can stop by Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, 1600 W Walnut St, on Tuesday, March 24th, from 4 to 6pm or Wednesday, March 25th, from 9 to 11am. Simply enter the JMH Circle Drive to receive your kit, which includes easy-to-follow instructions for collecting a sample at home. Once completed, you just mail the kit back in the provided prepaid envelope within 10 days, and you will receive your results by mail in about three to four weeks.
No appointment is necessary, but please keep in mind that kits are only available while supplies last. Screening is especially important for those aged 45 and older or anyone with a family history of colorectal cancer, and early detection is key to successful treatment.
