Meet Our Team
Anne Photo

Anne Peters, Franchise Business Owner

Anne began her career with Home Instead Inc. at the home office in Omaha, NE, in 2004. In 2008, she and her husband, Troy, purchased the Polk Co. franchise and has since acquired the Franchises located in Newton, Iowa City, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Anne is dedicated to fostering a culture of leadership, promoting Home Instead in the community, and organizing community service projects. Anne was born in Cedar Rapids, which fuels her passion for raising awareness about the issues, challenges, and needs facing seniors in the Cedar Rapids community. Anne currently serves on the Board of the Iowa Center for Home Care. Her dedication and passion were recognized in 2024 when she was named Home Instead’s first Franchisee of the Year recipient.

Sherry Peterson, General Manager

Sherry Peterson started with Home Instead Senior Care in April of 2007 as a CAREGiver. In June of that same year, she was brought into the office as the Recruiting and Retention Coordinator. As business continued to grow she stepped into the General Manager position.  She strongly believes that older adults can remain in their homes longer with person-centered care.  Her responsibilities are to oversee the daily operations of the agency by supporting the clients, families, care professionals, and office staff.  Sherry also conducts the hiring of new care professionals and handles all the billing for the clients, insurance claims, Veterans benefits, and payroll for the caregivers.  

Sherry is proud to say that her husband and all of their children are Veterans. Outside of work hours, Sherry enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, serving at church, and visiting with Veterans, particularly Veterans in our local care centers.

Liz Jenkins, Staff Coordinator

Liz started with Home Instead in August of 2014 as the Administrative Assistant. In March of 2015 she transitioned to the Staffing Coordinator position and worked diligently in that role until August of 2017 when she started as the Recruiting and Engagement Coordinator. Due to her high level of competency, in February of 2021 she moved back into the scheduler role.

Liz also enjoys getting to stay in touch with and building relationships with our current Care Professional team. This allows her to become very familiar with the caregivers' skill sets and interests. Liz’s strong relationships with Care Professionals are a tremendous asset in finding the perfect caregiver for each client. Outside of office hours, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband, as well as their three sons.

Melissa Struck, Client Care Coordinator

Melissa started her career with Home Instead in 2014 as a Care Professional. She had the pleasure of serving many clients for 9 years. The office team recognized her in 2021 as Care Professional of the Year. In 2023, she moved into her role as Care Professional Mentor/ Trainer.  Melissa has an expansive knowledge base which moved her into the role of Client Care Coordinator in 2026.

Outside of work Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 children. She also enjoys attending her youngest daughter’s many activities and sporting events.

Rachel Rouse, First Impressions Specialist & Weekend On-call Supervisor

Rachel joined Home Instead in 2012 as the Administrative Assistant over the years she has worked as the Scheduler, Recruiting & Retention Coordinator, On Call Specialist while attending school and recently stepping back into the role of Admin/On Call Supervisor. Rachel enjoys talking with and building relationships with clients, Care Pros & family members, she also loves being able to lend a helping hand wherever is needed throughout the office. Chances are if you call during or after business hours, you’ll get to talk to her!!  

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys being a Momma to 3 wonderful kiddos, attending their sporting events and dance competitions, cooking for her family, getting a good workout for herself and spending time outdoors in the sun.

Kara Bensch, Home Care Consultant

Kara serves as our Home Care Consultant. She joined Home Instead in September 2025. She has an extensive background in senior living, previously in sales and marketing roles in a community setting. She has over 14 years of experience helping families find a community for their loved ones. She is dedicated to building strong community connections and is committed to being a valuable resource for families in need. She is passionate about advocating for older adults.

She lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Conrad, and has 2 daughters. In her free time, Kara enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Kamry Carpenter, Recruitment Specialist

Kamry has worked in the senior living industry since 2014, starting as a CNA and later gaining experience in administration, sales, and marketing. Her passion for helping seniors live with dignity began at the bedside, providing care and comfort that truly matters. Now as a Recruitment Specialist, she is excited to connect Home Instead with passionate, hardworking Care Professionals.

Outside of work, Kamry enjoys time with her family and son, their dogs, and loves reading, baking, being outdoors, and visiting craft fairs.
