During the Christmas season, our thoughts often turn to children, but we know older citizens need gifts and love, too. Home Instead is excited to announce that we're launching our annual "Be a Santa to a Senior" program, inviting Burlingame to help spread holiday cheer to those who need it most.
Now in its 20th year nationwide, this Home Instead tradition helps bring joy to older adults who could use a little extra support. We work with Adult Protective Services and social workers who put together a list of essential items their clients need. The gifts requested are often small necessities, like a pillow, a broom, or a blanket, but they make a HUGE difference for disabled or disheartened older adults.
How to Participate:
There is a tree with tags representing older adults in need at the CVS in Burlingame. If you're in the giving spirit this holiday season, just follow these simple steps to be a Santa for a local senior:
- Select a bulb/tag from the tree located inside the CVS at 1871 El Camino Real, Burlingame, CA 94010.
- Purchase the item(s) listed on the tag.
- Place the bulb and the unwrapped gift(s) together in the designated collection area.
The last day for collections will be December 22nd, so please drop off your gift before the deadline!
