Not much has changed since my review last year. I really appreciate the help Star and Marty have given me. Elizabeth is willing and helpful, but young and not as accomplished as the other two, and calls off occasionally, which makes it difficult to have a new person. All the following is very true:
I have used Home Instead since 2016. First for my husband 24/7 and since he passed, for my self 9:00 to 5:00. For the most part I have been satisfied with the service. They have always tried to do the best for me, though they always need more workers. It is always difficult to have a caregiver who is brand new to the job.
I have two excellent caregivers:
Star G. is so efficient and a self-starter. She does my grocery shopping, banking, trips to the Post Office, and drives to doctor appointments, hair salon and brunch with a group of special friends. She is easy to get along with and very helpful.
Marty M. is also a wonderful helper. She was my weekly caregiver some time ago, so she knows the routine and where things are. She loves to play cards as I do, so is a treat to have her each Sunday. She has also filled in on occasion for my Saturday gal, which I appreciate because she had to work 20 straight days to be here for me as she has a regular tiring job 5 days a week. She knows all my family and gets along with everyone. I am so blessed to have these two ladies helping me.
I’m very happy with Home Instead. They provided a companion who fits my needs perfectly. We are together a minimum of 12 hours a week, and she also adds hours as needed to adapt to my schedule. I enjoy her company, and we have interesting conversations. When she’s here she helps me down the stairs to get to the garage. I mostly drive my own car, and she can drive if necessary. She fills my gas tank and goes with me to my appointments. She removes my walker from the trunk, walks with me, and returns the walker after helping me back into the car. She helps with laundry, makes my lunches, washes my kitchen floor, washes dishes and throws out trash. She is respectful and accommodating to my needs. She occupies herself with her artistic talents when I’m busy on my computer, and she’s a very good companion. She also shops for some groceries.
I have the best caregiver ANDREA Jaurigue and very happy with the service I receive from the friendly staff at Home Instead.
Mom's Home Instead caregiver, Adela V., does a great job with her. Very patient and communicative. It is apparent that she always has Mom's best interests at heart. And just as important, Mom likes her.
Grizelda L. is the best caregiver!!! She took care of my husband for a year before he passed. Then I became ill and she is taking care of me. I can't stress enough how helpful she has been. Cooking, cleaning and emotional support. Love her!!
Home Instead has been very helpful, knowledgeable, caring and responsive. My mom has dementia so we have Angela come 4 days a week to help my brothers and me look after her. Mom doesn't think she needs help, but I really like Angela and her calm, caring ways of dealing with her. Angela is always pleasant, we have great conversations and she is prompt. Thank you Home Instead staff!!
I happily give Home Instead my highest recommendation. The admin staff, and especially the caregivers, are conscientious and dependable. My primary caregiver, Amelia W. is flexible and does what I need while displaying a cheerful and encouraging demeanor. Amy is highly observant, energetic, and jumps right in without needing a lot of direction. Moreover, Amy is a good motivator and promotes exercise and activities that get me out and about; thus, I am developing positive mental health and finding joy in my life. An unexpected perk has been that Amy is a wonderful cook and has been teaching me a few things. I now have a new hobby and eat more healthfully than ever before.
Home Instead Senior Care provided exceptional 24-hour hospice care for my mother in Los Gatos, and I cannot say enough good things about their service. Every caregiver was professional, compassionate, and highly skilled, giving us comfort and peace of mind during such a challenging time. Their team was reliable and always went above and beyond to ensure my mother was cared for with dignity and respect in her final days. The trust we had in them made all the difference, and we are so grateful for the kindness and support they showed to our family. I wholeheartedly recommend Home Instead to anyone seeking top-notch care for a loved one.

Kenneth Tak is amazing and has such a big heart. His team and him coordinate in providing gifts to ALL of our residents! They provide good care and always prioritize patient's care needs.
Ana is my caregiver. She does things without being told. She is very helpful doing the daily chores. She loves to take care of me.
My Mom's caregiver, Melanie Klem, has been exceptional. She shops and exercises with my elderly mother and has been a great companion. We love Melanie.
Home Instead’s whole team is absolutely incredible. They truly prioritize the care they provide and want what’s best for their patients. Kenneth Tak was also so kind in coordinating and providing gifts to ALL of our patients during the holiday time so everyone had something to open on Christmas Day. It meant the world to the patients and our facility appreciated the love shared. We appreciate all they do for this community! Thank you again to Ken and his team!
Just wanted to give a shout out for my mom's wonderful caregiver Touria. She's is a great support and help with mom's needs and truly loves her job!
Kathryn’s visits are the highlight of Greg’s week. She makes sure that the required tasks are done and that he is able to socialize. She even helped him make a playlist of his favorite music!
I am very thankful to Kenneth for being Santa to our residents it was a big success. He help out on putting everything together so our residents were able to have a gift for Christmas and a smile. Thank you so much, we really appreciated it!

Great Company, very supportive with their employees. With the pandemic they made sure the safety of the employees and clients as well as giving the employees the tools and trainings needed.
The whole team at Home Instead are amazing! The contact with Matt was excellent and it was easy to set up help for my Mother. Jamie, is the scheduler for the caretakers and is very professional and helpful. Their staff, the caretakers, are trained and very attentive. Home Instead does a fantastic job meeting it’s clients’ needs. Matt in particular is wonderful. I work in senior care and Matt has, for many years been a fantastic resource I can offer to families. I’ve never sent a family or a senior to Matt that hasn’t been totally satisfied with their experience.
Through Home Instead, we are finding a new friend, who amazingly, is a perfect match for June. Always on time and prepared to share the day with us. When she sees something that need attention she follows through as if she has known us for years.
They do a great job caring for my mother in her home. The caregivers are very compassionate and caring and sensitive to her needs. They are companions as well as caregivers.
We currently are using the services of Home Instead to assist us in the care of our Father. I placed a call to Jennifer who was caring and compassionate. She provided us with the around the clock caregivers we needed on extremely short notice. The caregivers provided have been amazing with Dad. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.
My 80+ year old mother is a current client and has had Home Instead services for 2 years. We have had good to excellent caregivers. The office is responsive to any changes in needs and in schedule changes. Our family has been very happy with the services provided.
