At Home Instead, we know that as we age, some simple household chores can start to feel impossible to tackle alone. Everyone needs a helping hand now and then, so the Home Instead team found a town-led initiative that’s all about neighbors helping neighbors.
On Saturday, January 17th, from 7:30am to Noon, the Town of Gilbert is hosting its Day of Service to Seniors. The event is for elderly or disabled residents who might have limited financial resources or physical limitations. They'll tackle the basic household services that help keep a home comfortable.
If you or a neighbor could use a little extra muscle, here are the types of projects volunteers can help with:
- Light Yardwork
- Removing Boxes and Bags for Donations
- Trash and Recycling
- Light Housework - Vacuuming, Mopping, Dusting
- Changing Lightbulbs & Air Filters
- And More!
To receive help, you must fill out an application. Check the Gilbert Resident Application Page or contact Brenda H. at 480-503-6061 to see if any spots are available or get on the list for the next event in April!
