Structured Hands-on Training
At Home Instead Birmingham, training is more than a quick orientation. It is a structured, non-medical, hands-on experience designed to help Care Pros build the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to support older adults safely and compassionately at home.
Our training includes classroom education, dedicated dementia training, real-life care scenarios, hands-on practice with Activities of Daily Living, and skill evaluation before a Care Pro is matched with a client.

A dedicated portion of training focuses on dementia education, helping Care Pros better understand the needs, behaviors, and communication approaches that support clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
Day Two: Hands-On Learning and Practice

The second day of training is focused on non-medical hands-on learning in our training lab. Care Pros practice real-life care situations and Activities of Daily Living, including mobility support, dressing, sponge bathing, transfers, and personal care tasks.
