Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Alzheimer’s Care
*Minimum 1 year experience needed - skills training provided by Home Instead Senior Care*

Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • A valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance is a PLUS.

Home Instead Senior Care, an in-home care company for seniors in Queens, NY, is seeking a Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator to recruit, train, and staff the best CAREGivers in the industry.

We are looking for a mature, personable and energetic person to join our team. This important full time position will support our Client Care, Marketing and Staffing Managers with calls, record keeping and system management. In addition to general office duties, the responsibilities of this position will include recruiting, screening, hiring, training and retaining CAREGivers.

This requires a creative and critical thinker who is extremely organized and detail oriented and can provide results while under pressure.

Job Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • 2 years of office experience required.
  • Plan and successfully execute quarterly CAREGiver meetings.
  • Prepare and publish the monthly newsletter within the deadline.
  • Team player who is also able to work and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Organized, detail oriented, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with prospective CAREGivers in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Conduct character reference checks, background and drug screening.
  • Conduct CAREGiver Orientation and additional training programs.
  • Excellent phone and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and common sense resolution to daily challenges and opportunities.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently.
  • Clear grasp of MS Office programs in an office setting and maintaining client and CAREGiver folders and databases.
  • Answer phones after hours and weekends on a rotating basis.
  • Communicate continually with the owner about client and CAREGivers concerns or problems.
  • Quality Assurance visits.

CareGiver - Overnight Shift

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is currently looking to hire CAREGivers that can work either overnight shifts or are interested in a “live-in” case.

 

If you are interested in applying for an overnight shift, please apply only if you have previous experience working an overnight shift; overnight shifts are responsible to be up all night and frequently monitor their assigned client.

 

All applicants MUST have experience working with seniors. Experience working with clients that have Alzheimer’s /Dementia is a plus.
