​Welcome,

We are Franchise Owners Candy and Kevin Diercks.  After working with seniors everyday in the insurance business Candy soon recognized the growing need for in home care for seniors. We were introduced to Home Instead Senior Care in early 2006 by family who is also franchise owners of the Quad Cities Office. We immediately fell in love with the Home Instead's passion and desire to be your trusted in-home care agency, and their commitment to help your family keep your aging mother, father, grandparents or friends in their home as they grow older.

Since Opening our doors in January of 2007 we continue to pursue providing the best caregivers and being the most trusted source of companionship, medication reminders, personal cares and in-home care for seniors in our service area of Black Hawk, Bremer, Grundy, Butler, Buchanan and Fayette Counties.

Zach Diercks, General Manager

Zach Diercks, General Manager

​Zach was born and raised in Waverly, Iowa just north of Waterloo, Cedar Falls. He enjoys living on the family acreage. Zach has been married to his wife Brittney for 12 years, they have two beautiful children Jillian and Jhett. 

Zach has been a member of this family ran business since opening in January of 2007. Zach loves seeing a smile and joy on the face of seniors when they recieve the little bit of help from our wonderful CAREGivers.

Jamie Cole, Training Coordinator

Jamie was born in Alva, Oklahoma. She moved to Plainfield, IA with her family 22 years ago. From a young age Jamie has always had a compassion for caring for others. She has been in the healthcare industry for 17 years working in lingterm care, hospice, and in-home care. 

Jamie lives in Rural Tripoli area with her husband of 13 years, Dustin. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and riding horses. 


Deb Smith, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Deb Smith, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Deb is originally from Rochester, MN where she spent over 17 years in retail pharmacy management. She moved to Waterloo 5 years ago. She lives with her fiancé, Rod, and his two sons, Trevor and Jason.

Deb is responsible for recruiting, hiring, on boarding, and retaining a high quality team of kind compassionate caregivers. She works with caregivers to ensure their caregiving experience is a fulfilling one.

In her free time, Deb loves going back to Rochester to spend time with her daughter, Brittny, her mom, and extended family. She also loves watching Trevor and Jason play sports, being out in the summer sun, and being out on the water.

Deb's favorite part of working at Home Instead Senior Care is knowing that our caregivers truly make a difference in our clients' lives and our clients truly make a difference in our caregivers' lives.



Elizabeth Cordes, Client Care Coordinator

Elizabeth Cordes, Client Care Coordinator

Elizabeth is originally from Northeast Iowa, but moved to Cedar Falls to attend school at the University of Northern Iowa. She graduated from UNI in May of 2016, majoring in Psychology and Gerontology, and minoring in Criminology. She began at Home Instead Senior Care as an intern but is now part of our full-time staff. As a Client Care Coordinator, you will see her out in the community visiting with CAREGivers, clients, and families to maintain a tailored service plan and ensure high quality care. She is also in charge of leading our Alzheimer's and Hospice trainings provided to new CAREGivers. Her favorite part about working at Home Instead Senior Care is seeing the connection between the CAREGivers and our clients.
