Home Instead Senior Care Team

The need for in-home senior care services doesn't always arise between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on a weekday. That's why our team stands ready to serve you any day of the week, at any hour of the day or night. Lisa Wiedemann MS, OTR- Franchise Owner/President

Lisa Wiedemann MS, OTR- Franchise Owner/President

Lisa Wiedemann founded the Home Instead Senior Care office in Williamsville, NY in November of 2004.  Lisa brings 30 years of experience working with geriatric population.  She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Occupational Therapy from D’Youville College.  Her experience ranges from working in an acute medical rehab hospital in central California, to being employed as the only full time Occupational Therapist at a major home care company in downstate NY running two counties, to teaching at the college level for four years.  She has been very active in local organizations, like the WNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association serving on the Programs and Services committee as well as the Education committee since 2005.  Furthermore, she served for 10 years with the Board of the Amherst Senior Transportation Services and was Vice President for 3 1/2 years looking for ways to improve transportation in her community. Lisa is also a member of Erie County Caregiver Coalition since 2005 and is an active member of WNY’s Network in Aging presently serving on the Communications Committee.

Lisa also knows firsthand what it is like navigating the healthcare system since her mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease over 25 years ago.   Her mother was a longtime client of Home Instead Senior Care and was the inspiration for starting the business. Her Mom raised seven children alone while working as a registered nurse at a local hospital but her mom's disability forced her to leave as well as give up her driving.  ​Further, Lisa's only aunt was also a long term client of Home Instead suffering from Parkinson's Disease. Both Lisa's aunt and her mom passed within one month of each other in 2016.

Lisa loves being with and being able to work with her husband Eric. Their son, Carl who had grown up alongside the business, is a recent graduate of the University of Buffalo.

​Eric joined Lisa full-time at Home Instead Senior Care in 2006. He earned a doctorate in clinical psychology in 1996 from the California School of Professional Psychology in Fresno, California specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy. Following that, he spent many years practicing psychology full-time in public service and in the private sector. Eric continues to maintain a part time consulting psychology practice. Eric is also a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served four years active duty as an Intelligence Specialist.  

In addition to his responsibilities at Home Instead, Eric is very active with the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association! He has served as their Board Chair from 2011 through 2014 attending and helping with many events & programs over the years along with the collaborative efforts that coincide with assisting in governing the strong local WNY chapter. Over the years, he helped at several of the local Walk to End Alzheimer’s throughout Western New York; from assisting at 4 local walks in the greater WNY area in 2014 to helping in the early hours in the morning setting up tables in the pouring rain.  Eric currently serves on the board and is active with the Character Council of WNY. And if that wasn’t enough, he also serves in his local Catholic parish community on the Parish Council as Secretary.  

Lisa and her husband Eric are proud to represent on a local level the caring and love that the Home Instead Senior Care model brings. Rachel Hauser, MBA - Human Resources Manager

Rachel Hauser, MBA - Human Resources Manager

​As our recruitment and retention coordinator Rachel is responsible for handling employee relations, conducted investigations, coaching, counseling, and exit interviews. She also develops, prepares, and administers personnel policies and procedures for all of the employees at our location. An important part of Rachel’s position is administering new hire orientation and on-going employee education program. Rachel helps us to hire the best CAREGivers that we can to make help put the families at ease knowing they have quality CAREGivers taking care of their loved ones.​

Rachel graduated from Niagara University with her Master’s in Business Administration with concentrations in Human Resource Management, Strategic Marketing, and Strategic Management. During her time at Niagara University she was a member of the Women’s Hockey team. One of her proudest moments is when she was able to be a part of “Pink the Rink” with her hockey team. While attending Niagara University Rachel also was a part of the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society Kappa Gamma Pi.

Rachel joined the Home Instead Senior Care team because it gave her an opportunity to continue being service minded. She enjoys being able to contribute to improving the quality of life for seniors and give back to the WNY community. Outside of the office she enjoys playing Ice Hockey, exploring new recipes, reading, and photography. She also likes to be crafty by sewing, thrifting and shopping at crafts stores! 



Shannon Nowak, MSW - Client Engagement Coordinator

Shannon Nowak, MSW - Client Engagement Coordinator

Shannon is our Client Engagement Coordinator and is responsible for introducing families and potential clients to our services. She also assists with our quality assurance visits to ensure that things are going smoothly for both our clients and their CAREGivers.

Shannon began her tenure at Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREGiver. She was a favorite with families and clients, working while completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Buffalo State College; and her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Buffalo. Upon earning her Master’s, Shannon gained employment elsewhere. She gained some experience under her belt but soon realized that there’s no place like Home Instead.

The passion that Shannon has for her work is evident in the feedback that we receive from clients, their family members, and our CAREGivers. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family, her fiancee, and her dogs Finn and Lola. ​


Lauren Chamberlain, BSW - Outreach Coordinator

Lauren Chamberlain, BSW - Outreach Coordinator

Lauren brings passion and a love for seniors to her role as Outreach Coordinator. Her role is twofold. She oversees our care consultations and educates the community of referral providers about our services.  When Lauren meets with potential clients and their families, her goal is to bring peace of mind to these families as they face a challenging time in their life. Lauren is also often out in the community meeting up with referral providers locally to educate them about the quality of our services. 

Directly before coming to Home Instead she was an intern at the Alzheimer's Association. In 2015, Lauren was hired as our Client Care Coordinator and continued with that role for 3 years. She made the decision to branch out by working at a local subacute rehabilitation facility while staying on part time as a weekend on call coordinator with our office. Lauren is now back with us full time and utilizes her experiences which have proven to be of great value to her present position. She's grateful for the opportunity to work with our dedicated team of people who share the same vision and determination to provide outstanding home care services to seniors and their families.



Collette Book - Office Coordinator

Collette Book - Office Coordinator

​Collette joined our Home Instead Senior Care family in 2016.  As an exceptional CAREGiver, she was awarded CAREGiver of the Month within her first 6 months of employment and became a frequent nominee during her caregiving tenure.  She brings to our office experience in business management as she was sole owner of her own bakery café, as well as, drawing from her personal involvement in caregiving for family.   She has years of experience as a personal chef and caterer where she gained skills in culinary, kitchen management, planning, baking and pastry arts, and customer relations. Collette has experience in teaching classes to people with developmental disabilities and you may even recognize her from her work on AM Buffalo.  It was after her mother’s passing from a lengthy illness that she decided that she wanted to give back to the community and thus joined Home Instead. She loves learning more about what seniors are going through and what she can do to help comfort them and their families.  

Aside from making the most delicious scones the world has ever tasted, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.  Her beautiful heart, her positive attitude and enthusiasm make her a perfect addition to our team.


Barbara Bartlow – After-Hours Coordinator

Barbara Bartlow – After-Hours Coordinator

​Barbara serves in a crucial role of support on our Home Instead Senior Care team. Each day at any time, there is a CAREGiver providing quality care for a client to keep them living independently. Since quality care is being provided 24/7, Barbara’s job is to assist both clients and CAREGivers outside of our regular business hours with immediate scheduling changes or emergency situations.

Barbara graduated from the University of Buffalo in the first class of Computer Science in 1974! She began her career in computers in 1972 working part time for Fisher Price, after she had received an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Erie Community College. Barbara has held many positions in the industry including computer programmer, systems analyst, system designer, business analyst and even owner of her own software consulting company. 

After having a serious bout with cancer, Barbara recognizes the feeling of being alone or without help, so she identifies with many of our clients at Home Instead Senior Care. She enjoys working at Home Instead Senior Care because she feels that in some way she is helping to improve the lives of seniors. Barbara says that her position with Home Instead Senior Care is much more rewarding than her 45 years in the Computer Science industry.



Amy Witte - After Hours Coordinator

Amy Witte - After Hours Coordinator

​Amy recently joined the Home Instead Senior Care team as the After Hours Coordinator.  Chances are if you call our office on a week night, you will be assisted by Amy.

Amy was raised in Ohio, lived and worked for many years in Georgia and moved to WNY in 2018 to be near family.  Amy has many years of experience in on call staffing for a medical company in Georgia.  Amy also has some first hand experience with Alzheimers by assisting a family member with the disease.

When Amy has spare time, she enjoys hiking and loves waterfalls. She and her husband have 8 children, ages from 2 to 20.  Amy most enjoys spending time with her family and attending their children's sporting events!
