How Home Instead Began 15 years Ago
in Granville, Ohio

Originally from the Central Ohio area, Amy Huddleston and her husband Klay spent several years working in the online industry in Seattle. In the winter of 2003, after the birth of their first son, Amy and Klay began planning to eventually return home to raise their family.

Amy decided she really wanted a career in servicing & helping others when she returned home. Klay heard a story about Home Instead Senior Care on National Public Radio. He mentioned how this company would be perfect for what she was looking for -- an opportunity to service others & to help keep seniors "home instead".

Amy knew right away that Home Instead Senior Care provided a service that was very much needed -- one that could help improve the quality of life for seniors and their families -- a service that could truly help "make a difference" in people's lives.

After extensively researching the company, Amy and Klay flew to Omaha to be interviewed by Home Instead Senior Care's corporate office. Amy and Klay decided to purchase the Licking & Muskingum area franchise before returning to the Central Ohio area in the summer of 2004.

Amy opened the Home Instead Senior Care office in Granville in November of 2004 as its only employee. In February 2012, she opened a second location in Zanesville. Currently, both locations provide care to over 200 clients, and employ more than 230 local residents. As of April 2018, the Granville and Zanesville offices have provided over 1,000,000 hours of extraordinary care to hundreds of area seniors.

Amy truly believes in Home Instead's mission of being the world's most trusted & reliable provider of home care services for seniors.

Trusted Senior Home Care Since 1994

Paul and Lori Hogan founded Home Instead, Inc. in 1994 in Omaha, Nebraska. Paul's own family experience caring for his grandmother led him to realize many families could use the help of an in-home caregiver. He and Lori set about creating a company to help seniors to live independently at home. That mission still drives the company and its franchise network today.

Home Instead, Inc. began franchising in 1995. Today, the Home Instead Senior Care network has grown to include more than 1,000 franchises around the world -- including our offices in Licking County & Muskingum County, Ohio. While our franchise network is international, our office is local. And to us, senior home care is personal.
