"Home Instead care providers have made a very positive change in my Mother's life and outlook. She is happier and more interested in her life. Great cooking, cleaning and care giver skills. Office support and scheduling has been wonderful too. So glad we made this choice in home care providers. "

"Professional, responsive, interested and caring "

"The high quality of care as well as the reliability of caregivers has been the most important to me and my parents. Good communication matters and Home Instead an effective system to be sure everyone is on the same page when any issue or concern may arise. All of the caregivers are vetted. And that matters to me. A thoughtful and safe caregiver is a priority. I have used Home Instead in Kennebunk for 4 years. These last 5 months caregivers provided support for both my parents for approx 6-9 hours a day. I will continue to seek their assistance when my parents are in Maine! "

"Our experience with Home Instead has been positive. This is the first time I've used any such service and everything has gone smoothly. Our steady aide, Maureen B., had provided so much more than I expected, more than personal care and assistance for my mother, Pauline A. She pitched right in from the start and kept asking me to give her more things to do. She has been helpful in so many ways, but to me the most important thing is that I have every confidence in Maureen and I can leave my mother in her care without a second thought."

"I did call Home Instead and they were very helpful and really willing to help. I would give them an A+. "

"We chose to have Home Instead Senior Care of Kennebunk and we're very pleased with them. We did find a great in-home-care service a month or so ago. It's for my dad. So far, the woman who's in charge taking care of him is really great. When the woman couldn't come on her schedule, the head woman came instead. They've been really helpful and very supportive. We did not wait too long to find him a caregiver. It's only like a week. We had a meeting with them Monday, and then the person who's taking care of my dad came Friday. He's comfortable with his caregiver. They've been really nurturing and attentive. We are really satisfied with their service. "

Dear Ms. Vigeant:

The weekend of September 20th, 2014, I took my first break in two years f rom caring for my husband, George. He is confined to bed and has dementia. I was a bit apprehensive about leaving him but felt I needed to get away for a brief rest. I used Home Instead Senior Care for staff and my husband and I couldn't have been more pleased and satisfied. All of my worry was for nothing.

Priscilla and Laura were the two staff members who cared for George in my absence. They were both absolutely wonderful! We could not have asked for more professional, caring and kind people. My husband enjoyed being with both of them and said he hoped they would be available if we decided to do this again.

Since January, 2013, we have used the services of your company to provide respite care on a weekly basis for 13 hours. Carol is the CAREGiver for George. She is an angel. I would not want to imagine our life without her help. She not only provides physical care but also psychological support to George and me. George looks forward to her weekly visits and I have someone to whom I can talk who understands me and my situation.

All three women provide an invaluable service and do it with caring, kindness, and grace. George and I appreciate them and what they do for us. We are grateful for your company and the service you provide.

Sincerely,
George and Judy

When Mom was in the hospital and we needed to get her home health aids quickly, we remembered you folks from when our Grandmother had used Home Instead a few years back. It was great how fast you all jumped in and met with us and made arrangement to get Mom home from the hospital in 2 short days. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Mom enjoyed them all.

It is nice to know that she was in such good hands, while we are 2 & 1/2 hours away in CT. All the girls were great, even taking care of Mom's one hundred pound chocolate lab, Buster.

Thanks for all your help at Home Instead. We really appreciate all you did for us and will not hesitate to contact you in the future if the need arises.

My wife and I wish to thank you all for the care and concern you have always extended my brother David. David was diagnosed with Alzheimer's ten years ago. He was able to stay in his own home alone for three years with the help of a Home Instead group in Mass. It then became evident that he needed more secure care and we moved him to Huntington Common, Kennebunk, ME. We had one of your caregivers twice a week for the past seven years. Your caregivers took him out for lunch, bowling, walks and many other activities. These activities helped keep Dave's mind engaged and extended his time with us. I can't tell you how much that meant to our family. David passed away several weeks ago, but we will always think of you as a positive part of a very ugly disease. Thank you again.

Two years ago my Father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at age 90. Thinking my Mom would need support and respite to care for my Dad at home I reached out to Home Instead to learn about their services. Being independent and a bit resistant my 85 year old Mother never used Home Instead to help with my Dad but little did I know that the groundwork had been laid for services my family would desperately need just a short time later.

15 months later my Mother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. My parents needed 24/7 care in order for my Mom to be released from the hospital. On Tuesday I sat overwhelmed at Southern Maine Medical Center, on Wednesday I reconnected with Debra Hackett, on Thursday Deb met with my Mom in the hospital and my Dad at home, and on Monday the Caregiving Team arrived. Home Instead had the capability and compassion to fast track my parents’ care with all three daughters living out of state.

Over the next 10 weeks Home Instead Caregivers gave my Mother compassionate and expert care in conjunction with Hospice. They assisted my Mother as she continued, as long as possible, to care for my Dad. Without exception the Caregivers were capable and kind. A bond developed between my Mother and Laura, one of her Caregivers that sustained my Mother and greatly enriched the end of her life. Home Instead helped my family through my Mother’s death and my Father’s transition to a Memory Unit nearer his daughters. I will always be thankful .
