Care Team Castle Rock, CO

Chance and Carol Parker, Owners

Chance and Carol Parker, Owners

Chance and Carol Parker purchased their Home Instead Senior Care franchise after discovering the company through Chance’s previous corporate career. While he was an executive at J.D. Power and Associates, Chance was lucky enough to be a guest speaker at a previous Home Instead annual convention. It was at this event that Chance and Carol discovered a company that isn’t in business just to make money, but also to make a real difference in the world for our seniors. That company is Home Instead. Chance and Carol believe it’s important for seniors and their families to have options when it comes to their long-term care…what better way to act on this belief than through a Home Instead business of their own.

Chance’s background includes more than 20 years of experience in customer satisfaction with J.D. Power and Associates. Carol’s background includes extensive experience with community and religious charity organizations where she has served as President and led a variety of community service projects and volunteer organizations, all in addition to raising the couple’s four children. Carol also fondly remembers working with her mother and grandmother as a volunteer at the local retirement home where they would brighten the lives of the residents by singing, reading, and even trying their hands at hair styling.

In their spare time, Chance and Carol enjoy spending time with their children – exploring the Colorado mountains and attending their children’s activities. As an auto enthusiast, Chance also enjoys working on his classic car, a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair.

Shelly has extensive training in grief, loss and transition.  She assisted and supported the founding of an organization in Kansas City to support grieving families and was a contributing author for a resource book.  Shelly’s passion is writing and she has authored a number of news articles, curriculum and grants.

Erica Sadowski, Staffing Coordinator

Erica Sadowski, Staffing Coordinator
Erica joined HICS in Colorado Springs in 2009 and has been with the Castle Rock agency since 2014. Erica’s husband of 15 years was with the Navy and they have traveled all across the United States living in beautiful San Diego, Hawaii, and Washington State before deciding to reside in Colorado. While living in Hawaii, Erica graduated from dental school and began working for a dental hygienist only to realize it didn’t fulfill her professionally. Encouraged by her mother to pursue caregiving, Erica began helping seniors. That experience continues to help her empathize with the challenges CareGivers face. After working as a CareGiver, Erica was offered office opportunities and worked in several different settings. Knowledge and years of experience help her enjoy her current position as a scheduler.

Erica volunteers for numerous programs including The Children’s Literacy Summer Program, Castle Rock Library and Homes for our Troops. She continues to love spending time with the Elderly. Erica embraces life to the fullest and loves spending time hiking and snowboarding! Her curious nature invokes her passion to take pictures. Her ability to be quick and efficient (like in scheduling) allows her to capture fleeting moments of the playfulness of her two chocolate labs and the beauty of Colorado.

Judy Svegel, Asst. Staffing Coordinator

Judy Svegel, Asst. Staffing Coordinator

Judy started working for Home Instead in early 2012.  She was looking for a part time job and because she has always loved being around seniors, a caregiver career seemed like the perfect fit for her.

Judy grew up on the east coast where she attended school and had a long career in the fashion industry.  She moved to Colorado where she met her husband, Brian.  They have two children.  Robbie is a talented musician and Heather is a high school student.  In her free time she volunteers at the Douglas/Elbert Task Force where she works in the Thrift Store and co-chairs their largest fundraiser.  Judy also enjoys photography.
