CAREGiver

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Alzheimer’s Care
*No previous experience necessary - skills training provided by Home Instead Senior Care*

Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance

Weekend On-Call CAREGiver

Job Details

As a Weekend On-Call CAREGiver, an employee maintains open availability for the duration of the designated On-Call period, in order to provide Caregiving Services to established Clients on a fill-in basis. The Weekend On-Call Caregiver will remain available during the hours of 5:00pm Friday through 8:00am Monday. Employee must maintain a cellular phone-in working order, on record with the company, to facilitate communication with the On-Call Supervisor who is responsible for directing the activity and assignment of the Weekend On-Call Caregiver.

The On-Call Caregiver is expected to be able to arrive at any location within the Service Territory of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Portsmouth within one (1) hour of notice from supervisor.

For maintaining an open availability during the designated weekend period, the On-Call Caregiver will be paid a retainer of $50 weekly. If the On-Call Caregiver is unavailable or unreachable by phone at any point during the designated On-Call period, the entire weekend retainer is surrendered. For any shifts actually worked at the direction of the On-Call Supervisor the On-Call Caregiver will be paid their standard wage schedule.

The On-Call CAREGiver provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation

  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation

  • Medication and appointment reminders

  • Assistance with grooming and bathing

  • Assistance with toileting

  • Alzheimer’s Care

  • Running Errands

  • Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items

  • Provide stabilization and assistance with walking

*No previous experience necessary - skills training provided by Home Instead Senior Care*
Requirements to be an On-Call CAREGiver:

  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect

  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner

  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance

  • Must be available to work within 1 hour of notice between the weekend hours of 5:00pm Friday through 8:00am Monday

  • Ability to lift, push and pull 25 pounds

  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach

We have an opening for a Recruitment and Retention Coordinator.  In this role, you’re responsible for recruiting and hiring our caregiving work force. This person needs to be interested in the development and success of others in a fast-paced organization. We’re looking for someone with great communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a timely matter. Join us as we enhance the lives of aging adults and their families.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:                                                                             

  • Answer each employment inquiry in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Develop and implement new recruitment strategies online and within the community.
  • Schedule and conduct applicant interviews in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Following the Home Instead Senior Care Standards; conduct reference checks, criminal background and motor vehicle check and drug screens on all CAREGivers.
  • Create and maintain all employment records including but not limited to I-9 form, W-4 form and all other employment related documents.
  • Schedule and conduct CAREGiver orientation and all training including training required to meet Home Instead® Standards and additional optional training.
  • Monitor, mediate, and log all client and CAREGiver activity utilizing the software system.
  • Evaluate and update all orientation and training materials as needed
  • Conduct Service Inquiries and Care Consultations as needed following the consultative sales process
  • Conduct client/CAREGiver introductions as needed
  • Be available in and “On Call” rotation week nights and weekends
  • Perform any and all other functions deemed necessary
