Home Instead is very lucky to have such an amazing team of CAREGivers and office staff. We all come to work each day with one goal in mind – helping the elderly in our community remain safe and sound at home. One of our CAREGivers, Bobby Bucholz, has recently received news that his cancer has returned, so he is preparing for surgery next month. Bobby is such a big part of our Home Instead family, and he only wants to come back to work with his clients as soon as he recovers.
Bobby's been dealing with cancer since he was seven years old, and had major surgery last year. He was in remission, but now his cancer has returned to both his kidney and pelvic area. He is currently preparing both his forearm and upper leg skin to be grafted onto his abdomen area after surgery. His surgery is scheduled for December 13th, and he will be recovering afterwards for 10-12 weeks. Bobby’s eleven-year-old son is staying with family while his dad is getting ready for surgery, but he’s his dad’s number one fan and biggest supporter!
Although Bobby is lucky and has good medical insurance, he is still responsible for a hefty co-pay, around $6000.00. His family has just set up a Go Fund Me page to help:
