"I am continually struck by the professionalism, high level of caring and exemplary caregivers that I have met from Home Instead. My mom couldn't live without them, and neither could I.
Cheryl is the late co-owner of Oakmont's Home Instead franchise, and is one of the people responsible for bringing the franchise to Oakmont. In 2008, Cheryl and her sister, Kathi Lenart, purchased the franchise, which was located in a Monroeville office building at the time. One of their first decisions was to look for a more prominent, permanent home for Home Instead in Allegheny County's northeast suburbs. In 2009, they came across our current home on Allegheny Avenue in downtown Oakmont, and the rest is history.
Sadly, just a few years later, Cheryl would be diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a less common form of the disease. Despite her best efforts and a valiant fight, Cheryl lost her battle with cancer on January 11, 2013 at the age of 52. Cheryl left behind a loving husband, three children, several siblings and many friends at Home Instead Senior Care who are happy and honored to have known her.
After Cheryl's cancer diagnosis in late 2011, her employees and friends at Home Instead Senior Care - Oakmont organized several fundraisers to help her and others in the battle against cancer. You can donate by going to the

Like so many other people, personal experiences inspired me to enter the senior care industry. After many years of living with an aunt and her family, a decision was made to put my grandmother in a personal care home. My mother did not agree with this idea, and she decided Grandma would come live with her. She worked from home in the family business and thought taking care of Grandma would be easy. She was wrong.
What Mom didn't count on was being responsible for Grandma 24/7. She could not leave her alone, and so she was unable to do the things she typically enjoyed. Golfing, lunch with friends, nights out with Dad; all became things of the past. She felt like a prisoner in her own home. This became a stressful time for her and the rest of our family. Later, an ad in our local paper for a home care franchise caught our attention. Home Instead Senior Care could have provided the respite our mom so desperately needed. My sister, Cheryl, and I purchased the business in September 2008, and it was one of the best decisions we ever made! Every day we help people just like Mom.

Care and Barbara is integral in assuring quality reaches every aspect of our
company. You’ll see Barbara presenting educational seminars on various senior
topics and networking throughout the medical communities. Her duties also
include training new CAREGivers, drug screening, TB testing, answering
CAREGivers questions concerning their clients and on-going educational programs
for our CAREGivers. She enjoys golfing and spending time with her family.
Lynn joined the office in 2014 as a Client Care Coordinator. She works with our clients, their families and their care managers to ensure a positive and successful quality care experience. Her commitment to excellence is exhibited through her passion, drive and attention to detail in providing solutions to client needs. Lynn brings 30 years of corporate management to our office. She enjoys weekend getaways, cruises and family.
Kathy helps to keep the office running smoothly by working with each department to maintain the highest standards and continuity in the care we provide. She works closely with the HR department to monitor the hiring, training and ongoing documentation related to each CAREGiver. Her solutions oriented personality lends itself to success in problem solving within the company. She enjoys biking, hiking and traveling with her husband to visit their children.
Janet’s longevity with the office and unbelievable
memory allows her to truly know each CAREGiver and each client. She works
endlessly to make sure each client has a CAREGiver who is a good match.
Janet works closely and effectively with all departments to make sure everyone is well informed about their client's needs. Her cheery
disposition and smile help to build relationships with both client and
CAREGiver. Janet loves to shop and discover new places while
Stephanie knows many facets of Home Instead Senior Care since she started working for us as a CAREGiver then moved into the office as a staffing coordinator. Her friendly personality and ability to be detailed-oriented has served her well in these capacities. She is able to find the perfect CAREGiver match for each client and quickly solve the puzzle when a replacement is necessary. Stephanie has traveled the world and is passing on the love of cultures to her daughter.
Lisa knows the Home Instead Senior Care mission well
since she started working for us as a CAREGiver and moved into the office as a
staffing coordinator. Her ability to be detail oriented now allows her to
assist clients with all their needs. Lisa has a gift in comforting people and
enabling them to speak openly in a very trusted environment. She enjoys
spending time with her family and loves running.
Each client is assigned a Client Care Coordinator who will work on their behalf to establish a plan of care. They work with the clients, CAREGivers and families to create a trusting relationship with the entire client support team, ensuring continuity in their quality care.
Greg is a key player of our Client Care Team, a role he is passionate
about. He facilitates communications and
projects to ensure clients are provided with a successfully personalized care
experience. He also collaborates with
other team members to coordinate various aspects of client care. Greg joined
the office in 2014 and brings over 15 years of education and administrative
experience to our team. A Pittsburgh
native, Greg enjoys music, family, reading and travel.
Brittany's goal is hiring trustworthy, reliable and compassionate CAREGivers to provide exceptional care to our clients. She is the first person prospective CAREGivers meet as well as the one following-up to monitor their progress with their new career at Home Instead. Brittany plans and attends many CAREGiver events, often working behind the scenes to provide the fun! Brittany has a special talent for party planning, decorating and cooking. Mostly, however, she enjoys being with her family!
Maureen ensures that CAREGivers employment documents
are completed and all state and corporate criteria have been met to start a
successful career at Home Instead Senior Care. While she continuously
monitors these requirements she works closely with the CAREGivers to ensure
their happiness. Maureen is an avid sports fan, especially college basketball. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Patti is primarily responsible for managing all aspects
of the billing cycle and helping clients understand the billing process.
She is our specialist with the various agencies that help our seniors; long
term care insurance, veteran assistance and PA Department of Aging
assistance. Patti enjoys outdoor activities, walking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Patty is a great asset to our office. She performs many tasks to keep the office
running smoothly. Patty also makes a significant contribution to our staffing
department by working to assist in scheduling CAREGivers. She enjoys the outdoors,
exercising, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Whenever you enter the doors of the office or call, Joyce will be the first voice you will hear! She will knowledgeably answer any questions or direct your call to the appropriate department. Her caring
personality helps to make sure CAREGivers and clients feel welcome and have a successful experience with Home Instead Senior Care. Joyce enjoys shopping, bling and spending time with family & friends.
