In Memory - Cheryl Stawovy

Cheryl is the late co-owner of Oakmont's Home Instead franchise, and is one of the people responsible for bringing the franchise to Oakmont. In 2008, Cheryl and her sister, Kathi Lenart, purchased the franchise, which was located in a Monroeville office building at the time. One of their first decisions was to look for a more prominent, permanent home for Home Instead in Allegheny County's northeast suburbs. In 2009, they came across our current home on Allegheny Avenue in downtown Oakmont, and the rest is history.

Sadly, just a few years later, Cheryl would be diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a less common form of the disease. Despite her best efforts and a valiant fight, Cheryl lost her battle with cancer on January 11, 2013 at the age of 52. Cheryl left behind a loving husband, three children, several siblings and many friends at Home Instead Senior Care that are happy and honored to have known her.

After Cheryl's cancer diagnosis in late 2011, her employees and friends at Home Instead Senior Care - Oakmont organized several fundraisers to help her and others in the battle against  cancer. You can donate by going to the Cheryl Kay Foundation and donate directly in Cheryl's memory.​

Like so many other people, personal experiences inspired me to enter the senior care industry. After many years of living with an aunt and her family, a decision was made to put my grandmother in a personal care home. My mother did not agree with this idea, and she decided Grandma would come live with her. She worked from home in the family business and thought taking care of Grandma would be easy. She was wrong.

What Mom didn’t count on was being responsible for Grandma 24/7. She could not leave her alone, and so she was unable to do the things she typically enjoyed. Golfing, lunch with friends, nights out with Dad; all became things of the past. She felt like a prisoner in her own home. This became a stressful time for her and the rest of our family. Later, an ad in our local paper for a home care franchise caught our attention. Home Instead Senior Care could have provided the respite our mom so desperately needed. My sister, Cheryl, and I purchased the business in September 2008, and it was one of the best decisions we ever made! Every day we help people just like Mom.

Before coming to Home Instead Senior Care, Cheryl and I owned and operated a medical waste disposal company for 18 years.

Ann Larkin - General Manager

Ann Larkin - General Manager

Ann Larkin began her career with Home Instead Senior Care in 2002.  She has worked every position in the office and now manages the business.  Ann finds this position rewarding because Home Instead Senior Care is able to support clients and families at home while providing meaningful career opportunities to our employees.  She directs an outstanding team of professional office staff to work with clients and family members to develop and manage personalized Care Plans that help seniors maintain their maximum potential and independence in the place they call home.  Ann is very grateful to the number of CAREGivers we employ that truly provide care from their hearts.  Ann is married and has three grown children.  Her family has all been very involved in their local community where they have lived for 26 years.  All of her children have worked or currently work as CAREGivers and love the clients they have met along the way.


Barbara Corsi - RN-Marketing

Barbara Corsi - RN-Marketing

​Quality care is the cornerstone of Home Instead Senior Care.  You'll see Barbara presenting educational seminars on various senior topics throughout our communities.   Her duties also include training new CAREGivers, drug screening, TB testing, answering CAREGivers questions concerning their clients and on-going educational programs for our CAREGivers. She enjoys golfing and spending time with her family. 



Lynn McDermott - Client Care Coordinator

Lynn McDermott - Client Care Coordinator

After five years as one of our best CAREGivers, Lynn joined our office team in May 2014 as a Client Care Coordinator. The compassion, drive and attention to detail that made Lynn the Home Instead Senior Care Network's top CAREGiver for the Great Lakes Region in 2013! Now Lynn works with our clients, their families and their care managers to ensure Home Instead provides quality care.


Lisa Ray - Client Care Coordinator

Lisa Ray - Client Care Coordinator

​Lisa knows the Home Instead Senior Care mission well since she started working for us as a CAREGiver and moved into the office as a staffing coordinator. Her ability to be detailed-oriented now allows her to be a perfect Client Care Coordinator. She supports our CAREGivers and Clients through on-site visits and quality assurance visits.  She meets with families and potential clients to update and establish new care plans.  However, her primary responsibility is to act as a liaison for clients, their families and CAREGivers ensuring that the needs of her clients are being correctly addressed and there is a positive relationship built. Lisa lives with her husband and 3 children in Plum. She loves to run and keep busy.


Pam Rea - Client Care Coordinator

Pam Rea - Client Care Coordinator

Pamela joined our office staff in 2017 as a Client Care Coordinator.  She supports our CAREGivers and Clients through on-site visits and quality assurance visits.  She meets with families and potential clients to update and establish new care plans.   Pamela’s primary responsibility is to act as a liaison for clients, their families and CAREGivers ensuring that the needs of her clients are being correctly addressed and there is a positive relationship built.  Pamela states, “Working with seniors and their families is such a great fit for me.  I am very passionate about helping people stay independent and living at home, for as long as possible. I love being able to support the team in achieving compassionate and quality care for our clients.”  As a mother of 4, Pamela is used to balancing schedules, organizing activities and sharing her heart with others.  She believes that communication is the key.

​Zachary is energetic and ready to help the client care team.  He'll be in contact with CAREGivers as well as clients to make sure schedules and all updates are relayed in a timely manor. 


Kathy Milberger - Human Resource Director

Kathy Milberger - Human Resource Director

​Kathy is responsible for contacting applicants and interviewing  each potential employee, helping them through the hiring process.  Her goal is to hire trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate CAREGivers. Kathy makes sure that all our CAREGivers offer our clients exceptional care. She enjoys living in Oakmont with her family, as well as biking and hiking! ​

Brittany does recruiting and initial interviewing of each potential CAREGiver.  She will be the first person you meet as well as the person who will follow-up to see how you are doing as you begin your new career with our office.

​Janet helps to get our new CAREGivers off to a great start with their orientation, and introductions to clients. She continues to keep in contact with our CAREGivers as they help their new friends.  You'll also find Janet in the staffing department helping to find those perfect CAREGiver and client matches.

Stephanie knows the Home Instead Senior Care mission well since she started working for us as a CAREGiver.  Her ability to be detailed-oriented allows her to find the perfect CAREGiver match for each client. Stephanie is in charge of filling new shifts with steady CAREGivers and finding replacements when necessary. She works closely with the Client Care Coordinators and CAREGivers to make sure everyone is well informed about their clients needs.

Her smile and easy going personality will allow her to work well with the CAREGivers as she finds the perfect match for the clients. Meghan is in charge of filling new shifts with steady CAREGivers and finding replacements when necessary.


Patty Anthony - Administrative Assistant

Patty Anthony - Administrative Assistant

​Patty is a great asset to our office in a variety of roles. One day she may be answering phones at the front desk, the next conducting interviews with prospective CAREGivers! She performs many of those behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the office running smoothly. Patty lives in Oakmont with her husband and three sons. She enjoys the outdoors, exercising, reading and spending quality time with family and friends.​

​Patti's primarily responsibility is managing client and CAREGiver information within our database. She also handles other odd jobs around the office. Patti lives in Oakmont with her husband and three children, busy with their many activities.


Greg Drylie - Administrative Assistant

Greg Drylie - Administrative Assistant

​Greg Drylie joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in May of 2014. He assists with ensuring that our CAREGivers have everything they need to have a successful experience with their clients. Whenever you enter the doors of the office or call our number, his is the first voice you will hear! With a background in office administration and education, Greg brings a caring personality to the Home Instead Team, and has a compassionate heart and a desire to provide the best possible service to Home Instead clients. A resident of Oakmont, Greg enjoys music, reading, hockey and travel.​​
