Owner: Evelyn Baron

Owner: Evelyn Baron Evelyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has more than 25 years of experience working with the elderly. Her past positions include: Director of Eldercare Services at Jewish Family Services of Central NJ, Director of Older Adult Services at the Jewish Community Center of Staten Island,
and social worker at Maimonides Medical Center. She received her Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University-Wurzweiler School of Social Work in NYC and her Bachelor of Science from SUNY Albany.

As the owner of HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE since 1999, Evelyn is proud to have made a difference in the lives of thousands of individuals and their families. HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE has given her the opportunity to combine her professional skills, her respect for older people, and her wish to be a successful entrepreneur.

Social Worker: Sharon Span Rogovin, MSW

Social Worker: Sharon Span Rogovin, MSW

​Sharon joins Home Instead Senior Care with more than 30 years’ experience of working with the senior adults in our local community.  She has vast and varied experiences, primarily in non-profit, working with senior adults and adults with special needs, in both community and residential settings. Sharon has a good understanding of the benefits of receiving care at home, and is excited to bring to Home Instead, her experiences with those diagnosed with medical issues, with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease, and active, younger senior adults. Sharon looks forward to bringing her past success of helping senior adults to thrive in their own communities, to the agency.

Sharon received her Master of Social Work from Wurzweiller School of Social Work, Yeshiva University and her Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University with a Certificate in Gerontology. She lives in West Caldwell, NJ and loves reading and spending time with her family.

Interim Director of Nursing: Margarita Shindnes, RN, MPA, CCM, CMC

Margarita is a Registered Nurse, Board Certified Case Manager, and Certified Aging Life Care Manager with over 18 years of expertise in the field of aging. Her experience is in the community of home care agencies servicing clients in the tristate area. In addition to HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE, she runs a geriatric care management company providing advocacy for the aging population, and helping families navigate the maze of long term care.

Rita lives in Bergen County. In her downtime, Rita loves to dance.

Staff Coordinator: Serina Smith

Serina joined the HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE team in 2017 bringing with her 25 years of customer service experience. Her background in human resources and customer service management allows her to effectively place CAREGivers with clients, ensuring optimal success and satisfaction. She loves staying in constant communication with the CAREGivers and getting to know all our clients.

Serina lives in Roselle. She enjoys spending time with her family.

CAREGiver Engagement Coordinator: Charlene Carter, CHHA

Charlene has been an office administrator for over 30 years. In addition to her 20 years of experience working in a law firm, Charlene has also managed to fit 10 years of CAREGiving into her schedule, as she is very passionate when it comes to helping others. At HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE, Charlene has become a source of compassion and knowledge to CAREGivers and clients alike. Her responsibilities include onboarding new CAREGivers and ongoing supervision for all our CAREGivers. With Charlene’s help, they become the best in their fields, resulting in unmatched service and satisfied clients.

Charlene lives in Essex County. She likes to crochet in her downtime. She makes shawls, clothes for babies, and blankets for her loved ones and anyone in need.

Director of Training: Yvette Aitkens, CALA, CDP, CADDCT

With over 19 years of healthcare experience, Yvette joined HISC in 2018 as an Independent Healthcare Consultant & Educator specializing in Alzheimer and other dementia training. In addition to a comprehensive background in geriatric care management and long-term senior care, Yvette is recognized by the National Council Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) as Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Instructor (CADDCT).  As Director of Caregiving and Staff Training, Yvette is instrumental in educating employees on various technics and processes to manage senior cognitive and behavioral challenges.  She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with the goal of improving the lives of seniors and their families.

On-Call Supervisor: Jaclyn Baron

Jaclyn is our On-Call Supervisor and tends to all urgent matters after office hours. She has worked in the office full time in Human Resources and Scheduling. With her breadth of experience, Jaclyn responds with quick and decisive actions and answers when addressing the critical needs of both clients and CAREGivers. She appreciates the goals of HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE and is proud to assist in providing quality services for clients and their families.  

Jaclyn likes to work with various art mediums and take art classes. She specializes in making greeting cards.

CAREGiver Trainer: Nancy Tenenbaum, MSEd

CAREGiver Trainer: Nancy Tenenbaum, MSEd

Nancy, a retired guidance counselor from Columbia High School in Maplewood, is trained as both a teacher and a guidance counselor. She received her Master of Education from John Hopkins University and her Bachelor of Science from Slippery Rock University. Nancy teaches our new CAREGiver orientation and trains our CAREGivers in Alzheimer and Other Dementias. Presently, in addition to working at HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE, she is a supervisor at Drew University for student teachers.

Nancy lives in Springfield with her husband Joe. She has 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters.
