Home Instead Senior Care of Birmingham Scholarship Information

JUANITA REA MEMORIAL CHRISTIAN SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is awarded in honor of Juanita Rea, the mother of owner Stephanie Rea-Copple, who persevered to serve her God through acts of faith during the eleven year span she fought breast cancer before passing away in 2011. After her diagnosis, Juanita went on several mission trips to Africa to work with children in orphanages and served in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the region to minister to those who were homeless and hungry.

This scholarship is purposed to be used to pay for tuition or fees associated with attending some form of Christian education, participation in some form of international or domestic Christian missions program, or the registration for the participation in some form of Christian camp or development program. This scholarship is presented annually in August with an award amount ranging from $250-$2,000. Multiple awards may be given if the total amount given per award is less than the maximum annual gift.

This award is open first to active employees of Home Instead Senior Care in Birmingham-MI, franchise #283, then to the children of those active employees, then to the grandchildren of those active employees, and finally to the general public living within Oakland County-MI.

Applicants should draft a letter stating their need and the purpose for which the scholarship would be used as well as the impact the event/trip/education would have on their lives and their community. Applications are due August 1st of each calendar year. Letters can be submitted on-line via the company website. ROWLEY FOUNDERS SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is awarded in honor of the company founder, Justine Rowley, who started the Birmingham franchise of Home Instead Senior Care in August of 1999. This scholarship is purposed to be used to pay for tuition and fees associated with attending an accredited university or college to earn a degree in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy or social work.

The scholarship is presented annually in August with an award amount of $500-$2,000. Multiple awards may be given if the total amount given per award is less than the maximum annual gift. This award is open first to active employees of Home Instead Senior Care in Birmingham-MI, then to the children of those active employees, and finally to the general public living within Oakland, Wayne and Macomb Counties-MI.

Applicants should draft a letter stating their need and the purpose for which the scholarship would be used as well as the impact the education would have on their life and their future. Applications are due August 1st of each calendar year. Letters can be submitted on-line via the company website. PATRIOT SCHOLARSHIP FOR DISABLED VETERANS

This scholarship is awarded to honor those veterans who have served and paid a price physically or emotionally from their time of service. Bert Copple, the owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Birmingham-MI, is a disabled war veteran who served a tour of duty in Iraq, and this award is to benefit those warriors who also served their country.

This scholarship is purposed to be used to pay for tuition or associated fees with attending some form of formal education. The awardee must be a disabled veteran with a 10% disability rating, or a child of a disabled veteran with a 10% disability rating. This scholarship is presented annually in August with an award amount ranging from $1,000-$2,000. Multiple awards may be given if the total amount given per award is less than the maximum annual gift.

This award is open first to disabled veterans with a minimum 10% disability rating, then to a child of a disabled veteran with a minimum 10% disability rating. Applicants should draft a letter stating their need and the purpose for which the scholarship would be used as well as the impact the education would have on their life and future. Applications are due August 1st of each calendar year. Letters can be mailed to: HISC Scholarship Fund, Attn: Patriot Scholarship Selection Committee, 725 South Adams Rd., Suite L-196, Birmingham, MI 48009. Electronic submissions will not be accepted. Applicants must include a copy of their DD FORM 214 with their letter to prove military service. Awardees will be notified in mid-August.
