​The need for in-home senior care services doesn't always arise between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on a weekday. That's why our team stands ready to serve you any day of the week, at any hour of the day or night. Robert Ware - President

Robert Ware - President Background: Robert has a long history of serving his community and country, as a decorated veteran of the United States Air Force and the New Castle County Police Department. He became the Director of Operations for Home Instead Senior Care in 1999, after realizing his passion to assist seniors in his community.

Why senior care? Robert has a special aspiration to serve the vast local Veterans population. He ensures every staff member takes their job personally and understands the mission of actively changing the face of aging for our local senior population.

Amanda Schultz - Operations Support

Amanda Schultz - Operations Support Background: Before Home Instead, Amanda had a career working in finance and sales. During that time she gained experience in client services and corporate management.  She is also a philanthropist at heart and spent 10 years as the vice president and charity director for a local charity organization and has helped with several independent fundraisers for those in need.

Why Senior Care? Amanda finds joy in helping others and was looking for a career change to do something that made her happy. During her time with our company, she has found a love for serving the senior population.

Melissa Allaband - Operations Support

Melissa Allaband - Operations Support

Background: Melissa brings over 18 years of customer service to our Home Instead office. She started with Home Instead as a CAREgiver and then migrated into the office atmosphere as a service Coordinator. After leaving for a short time to complete her BA in Human Services, she returned as a Client Care Coordinator before being moving into the Corporate Staff role.

Why Senior Care? Growing up, Melissa, spent a lot of time with her grandmothers who taught her the importance of caring for others through volunteer work at a local nursing home. She has always enjoyed spending time with the older generation and giving back to those who once gave so much of themselves for so many others.​


Julie Boone - Manager

Julie Boone - Manager

Background: Julie joined the Home Instead team in 2008 initially as a CAREGiver. She also worked as a Recruiting and Retention Coordinator and more recently, a Client Care Coordinator ensuring that all client received they care they needed. Julie has extensive experience in the field and working with seniors in a multitude of capacities.

Why senior care? Julie's passion for working with seniors stems from her own personal experience of caring for her elderly mother. She is eager and willing to help anyone in need.


Diane Earley - Manager

Diane Earley - Manager

Background: Diane comes to Home Instead with a wealth of information and familiarity of the community after working with the State of Delaware in the Department of Health and Social Services for 35 years. Her experience in case management and her connections with community resources enable us to provide our clients with the services they need and deserve.   

Why Senior Care: Diane had the pleasure of taking care of her father until his passing and currently cares for her mother in her home. She enjoys being able to care for those who once cared for her.​


Bridget Brown - Service Coordinator

Bridget Brown - Service Coordinator

Background: After growing up in a military family, Bridget served 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and has had the opportunity to experience many different cultures. While in the Coast Guard, she volunteered for activities like reading to seniors and helping at local nursing homes. Bridget is able to use her life experiences to connect with our CAREGivers, clients, and families on a personal level to provide the best experience for each of them. 

Why Senior Care: Bridget always shared a special bond with her grandparents and became their main caregiver, caring for her grandfather during his battle with cancer, and then her grandmother after her grandfather had passed. Recognizing the difference she made for each of them until their last days, she knew that she wanted to be a part of an organization that made a positive difference in the lives of seniors. 


Patsy Scheufele - Service Coordinator

Patsy Scheufele - Service Coordinator

Background: Patsy joined Home Instead Senior Care after spending some time as her sister's full-time caregiver. Prior to that she spent 17+ years in the medical field as a Certified Medical Assistant. The experience she gained in a fast-paced environment has given her excellent organizational skills and an acute eye for detail. She is an asset to our team for both our clients' and employees' scheduling needs.

Why senior care? After being directing impacted by family members that were diagnosed with Alzheimer's and working with many clients and their families who were dealing with the disease, Patsy realized how important dignity and familiarity were for those living with the disease. She wants to be a part of an organization that can do both things by enhancing the quality of life for its clients in the comfort of their own home.


Peggy Scarbro - Client Care Coordinator

Peggy Scarbro - Client Care Coordinator

​Background: Peggy brings 16+ years of quality assurance and customer service experience to Home Instead Senior Care. Before moving into her current position, Peggy was a CAREGiver who was dedicated to increasing the quality of life for her client's. She now is able to work along side client's and their families to build individualized care plans for our clients. 

Why Senior Care? Prior to joing the Home Instead team, Peggy cared for her mother when her health was failing. When her mother passed at the age of 84, she knew that caring for seniors was something she enjoyed and she wanted to be a part of making their lives better. 


Wendy Kerr - Client Care Coordinator

Wendy Kerr - Client Care Coordinator

Background: Wendy joined the Home Instead team in 2015 as a CAREGiver.  She brings 25+ years of caregiving to the team. Her strong ability to develop relationships and trust with clients and caregivers has been a tremendous asset to our team.

Why senior care? ​​​​After caring for her grandmother and realizing what a positive impact she had on her grandmother's life during her time of need, she understands how important it is to care for our seniors. She has a strong desire to see all seniors in need receive the care they deserve.


Michelle Messick - Client Care Coordinator

Michelle Messick - Client Care Coordinator

Background:  Shortly after graduating from Miami University in Ohio with a bachelors  degree in sociology, and minoring in gerontology, Michelle began working with the elderly in long-term care. She has an extensive background in the healthcare industry as she has served as an Activity Director, Case Manager, and Administator in a nursing home. Michelle has a  passion for serving clients, especially older adults. 

Why senior care? When her father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, michelle personally experienced the blessing caring for him in his own home. The time spent with him at the end of his life was precious and priceless. She appreciates the opportunity to be a part of an organization who will serve older clients in their own homes while maintaining their sense of independence and dignity.


Michele Rudzik - Home Care Consultant

Michele Rudzik - Home Care Consultant

​Background: Michele joined the Home Instead team after working in pharmaceuticals for 30 years. Through her career she developed a knack for building relationships with all types of people and strengthened her listening skills to be able to accurately make suggestions to help meet her clients needs. After retiring to Delaware, Michele joined the Home Instead family and has been a wealth of information for her clients and their families to help get the superior service they deserve. 

Why Senior Care: After being a primary caregiver for her mother after she was diagnosed with dementia, when Michele saw the advertisement for Home Instead Senior Care, she knew the position was meant for her. She rejoined the work force to ensure the seniors in her area are well cared for while they remain in the comfort of their own homes.

Background: Lee Graduated in 1977 from Lancaster Bible College with a B.S. in Bible and then began working in an administrative role for manufacturing companies. Why senior care? Senior Care chose Lee. While she was looking for a part-time position after relocating to Delaware, she saw an ad on a local job board and applied. She fell in love with caregiving and continues to care for her clients when she is not working in her administrative role.


Patricia Wildermuth - Administrative Assistant

Patricia Wildermuth - Administrative Assistant

Background: Patricia came to our Home Instead team with an extensive background in customer service and 10 years of managerial experience. She started her journey here as a CAREgiver, using her people skills brighten the days of her clients. By moving into her current role, she is able to share her skills with clients and CAREgivers alike.

Why Senior Care? At 15 years old, Patricia gained experience by taking care of an elderly neighbor after a fall and developed a compassion for the senior population. She also dedicated 6 years to being her mother's full time caregiver before she passed. She knows first hand what a difference the right care can make.​


Laura Reed - Recruitment Assistant

Laura Reed - Recruitment Assistant

Background: Laura is a Certified Nursing Assistant who graduated from Polytech High School. She also has education in Drug and Alcohol counceling and Human Services.  Her background helps her to make strong connections with our clients and their families to ensure we provide them with adequate care.  

Why Senior Care? Laura loves working with seniors, not only because she feels her help is appreciated, but even more so because she appreciates what she can learn from the clients. She feels,  "Every person I work with is different, which allows me to walk out of any interaction with a valuable lesson."


Stacey Morrison - Caregiver Mentor

Stacey Morrison - Caregiver Mentor

Background: Stacey came to Home Instead Senior Care with an extensive background in customer service and client care. She also had he own small business in which she assisted seniors with organization and housekeeping. Prior to her current position, Stacey was a CAREGiver, but was soon recognized for her commitment to Superior Service and her ability to train others. She has a zeal for mentoring others and helping new CAREGivers to learn and grow to their full potential. 

Why Senior Care: After caring for a loved one with chronic disease, Stacey recognized that caring for seniors was her true passion. It has become extremely important for her to do all she can to increase and maintain the quality of life for the seniors she comes in contact with. 


Kimberly Crossley - Training Coordinator

Kimberly Crossley - Training Coordinator

​Background: Kimberly comes to Home Instead with a wide variety of experience in both Education and Social Work. After graduating from West Chester University, she began in the field of teaching and gravitated towards those with Special Education needs. After a few years, she accepted the opportunity to work in adoption from the foster care system. She enjoyed her time in the classroom, as well as her time working with children and families in the community through adoption, but she chose to follow her heart towards a new adventure and calling in Senior Care. Being an active part of the community is important to her and, after 12 years, she continues to enjoy her position as a Group Fitness Instructor at the local YMCA, and works closely with local animal rescue groups as a foster.

Why Senior Care: After spending a number of years working in both the public school system, as well as the child welfare system, she decided to broaden her horizons and use her educational background to serve a new population of individuals in her community through Senior Care Education. She has always had a heart for the community and has a strong desire to bring awareness and knowledge to others in order to support the individuals and families who are striving to maintain the highest quality of life for some of the most vulnerable members of society.
