Immediate need for Experienced CAREGivers in Chapel Hill, NC

Home Instead Senior Care continues to look for compassionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of seniors in Orange County and NE Chatham County.  Our team of CAREGivers assist seniors in our community with a variety of services and help them remain independent in their familiar surroundings. We offer competitive wages starting at $12.00/hourly.

As a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care, you will:

  • Provide Companionship & Home Helper Services which could include:
    • Companionship and conversation
    • Providing stabilization and assistance with walking/transfers
    • Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
    • Providing medication reminders and appointment reminders
    • Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
    • Washing and ironing laundry
    • Running errands
    • Accompanying clients to appointments
    • Pet care (Walking, feeding)
  • Provide Personal Services which could include:
    • Assisting with bathing
    • Assisting with grooming
    • Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues
       
  • Provide Specialized Services which could include:
    • Advanced Alzheimer's/Dementia Care
    • Double Client Services
    • Customized Shift
       
Essential Job Requirements:
 
  • Ability to speak and hear English clearly in person and on the telephone
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
  • Ability to consistently provide physical assistance to a client (i.e. stand-by assistance while walking, assist client with transfers, stand and pivot while helping them support weight)
  • Complete a criminal background check, DMV check, pre-employment drug screen
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with valid auto insurance 
  • Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect

We are currently looking for reliable and caring individuals to join our team, who are available to work during overnight hours. These shifts require the CAREGiver to remain awake for the duration of the scheduled shift. But what is a "First Impressions and Communications Coordinator?"

At Home Instead Senior Care, we work to exceed the expectations of everyone we encounter. Every person we meet, every person we speak with on the phone, every stressed out family member who reaches out for help, gets our very best- every day. As a Communications Coordinator, your role is split among four basic domains:

1. Caregiver- We are all caregivers. We all provide in-home, non-medical care for seniors. As a FICC, you are our first line of defense if a caregiver should need to call out of work at the last minute. At Home Instead, we are where we say we are going to be when we say we are going to be there. You are a functional piece of keeping that promise. If you have a passion for serving seniors, enjoy an ever-changing work environment, and can blend into any situation we would love to meet you.
2. Client/Caregiver Introductions- Making sure that our caregivers get off on the right foot is a top priority. As a FICC, you are responsible for creating a gold-standard level introduction experience for our caregivers and their new clients. This requires someone who is a natural people person with an energetic but yet reassuring demeanor. If that's you, we would love to meet you.
3. Phone Triage- When a client's family member calls in because they are at the end of their emotional rope, would they be glad they got you on the line? When a caregiver is facing a difficult situation and they don't know what to do, would you be the person to help walk them through the steps to find an answer? When someone calls in and they just need to let off some steam, are you able to listen empathetically without taking it personally? If you are a yes to the previous questions, we would love to meet you.
4. Logistics- We are a relatively small office but it is amazing the amount of information that flows through us each day. We need someone to help bring order out of chaos. We need someone who is attentive to even the most minute detail and makes sure that when it comes to the care of our staff and our clients- nothing is left to chance. If you are the type of person who spellchecks your text messages before you send them, we would love to meet you.
