October 2022 Care Professional of the Month: Marti B.
Marti B has been selected as the Care Professional of the Month for October 2022, and we are overjoyed to congratulate her! Marti, thank you for all that you do to uphold the health, safety, and happiness of our customers.
We asked Marti a few questions about her experience as a Care Professional.
Why did you come work for Home Instead?
I worked in offices for over 50 years, after I retired I took off a year and did not like it. Looking for part time work (not in an office) Home Instead came up. It sounded good, so here I am 12 years later.
What is your favorite part about working with seniors?
Seeing the smile on their face when I arrive.
Please, tell us about a fun memory you've had with your client. Be descriptive.
So far all my clients have been great. Several years ago I worked with a gentleman and he needed a lot of help. Our fun time was watching The Price is Right. We had a lot of laughs and kept track of which one of us won.
Who has inspired you the most during your time as a Care Professional, and why?
I am inspired by them all, because of how happy they are to see you and you know that you are helping to keep them home.
What advice would you give other Care Professionals?
Love your clients and treat them like family.
How do you deal with the stress that comes with caregiving?
I pray a lot.
