For Edward L., a man of deep faith and a deacon at his church, working with the elderly is a way that he can serve God. “God uses me to help others in need,” says Edward, noting that the Bible respects the wisdom of the elderly. He adds that his faith gives him a lot of patience, which is useful in his job.
Edward enjoys helping seniors however he can; talking with them, showing them love, and making sure they are safe are important facets of his work. He is especially inspired by Henry, one of his favorite clients. “We talk about the past and present,” says Edward. “He has a good knowledge of what things bless the soul. He is very wise—a great man.”
