Home Instead has been a Godsend. We so appreciate all of their help. Every person we come in contact with is so helpful. They have worked with us to build a wonderful team of aids to make our father's life and ours so much easier. He calls them his angels. Sue and Sarah are always ready to work with us on every need he has and the aids have become like family. Thank you.❤️

Home instead was one of the best things we ever did for my mother-in-law. I wish we would have started the service earlier than we did. We started the service when she went blind and was having panic attacks. When in a room by herself, we were home, but not where she could hear us Home Instead, filled that companionship and interaction, I was not able to give while I was working at home, for my job and also the days I was trying to clean, do laundry and basic chores around the house. The staff was very helpful in understanding as things progressed with her being flexible with start times and days.

The care you need for the life you want.

Helpful FAQs

The Greensburg office combines local knowledge with a close-knit team. A large portion of its current office staff began their careers as caregivers, giving them firsthand experience with clients and families.

The office also operates as part of a four-franchise enterprise, allowing the local Westmoreland County team to draw on additional resources and experience while remaining locally focused.

The team reports approximately 90 Care Pros and a particular focus on dementia, personal care, companionship, respite, higher-hour care, and support for veterans.

Westmoreland County includes suburban, small-town, and rural communities. Some clients live farther from family, healthcare resources, transportation, or other support systems than they would in a more densely populated area.

That affects more than the client—it also affects how the office matches Care Pros. Location, commute, and schedule all have to be realistic for a care relationship to remain sustainable.

Greensburg is the center of the office’s market and where much of the county’s healthcare and senior-care network intersects, while the team also intentionally works to serve communities throughout the county.

Dementia and cognitive decline are among the most common care needs identified by the office. Families may initially ask for a few hours of companionship, only to discover that the older adult also needs personal care, mobility assistance, transportation, or more extensive support.

The office has an active connection with the Alzheimer’s Association and participates in the Westmoreland County Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Dementia experience also exists within the leadership team, including a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

Yes. The office is comfortable supporting clients whose needs evolve considerably.

A person may begin with companionship or a few personal-care visits and later require respite, more frequent care, or 24-hour support. The team specifically describes adjusting support as needs change rather than assuming the original schedule will remain appropriate.

The office reports that it can typically begin care within two to three days.

The exact timing depends on the client’s needs, location, schedule, and Care Pro availability. Westmoreland County’s size means staffing and travel can be important considerations, particularly for rural communities.

Cost depends on the type and amount of support needed. Personal care several days a week, companion care, respite, and 24-hour care all require different schedules.

The local team can develop a customized care plan and discuss the expected cost during the care consultation.
