In-home Help for Vermont Seniors
Postcards from a Simpler Time
Just like most families, we took vacations to Lake Champlain, Big Falls and Green Mountain National Forest. And I'll never forget the excitement of our first ski trip to Pico Mountain. But the memories I treasure most are simple ones of times shared with Dad, like the first time he let me "caddy" for him at the golf course, giving me a crisp 20-dollar bill when we finished, even though he had to carry the bag for the last 8 holes.
Dealing with Change
Even though Dad's alone now, he loves living in the old house with the familiar pictures he and Mom hung on the walls so many years ago. He still goes to the course for his Thursday morning round with his buddies. But lately I've noticed some changes. He gets confused and can't find things around the house, and last week I found out he hadn't paid the phone bill. He's such an independent guy and I can't imagine moving him to assisted living or a nursing home. He just needs a little help, but I can't be there every day.
Home Instead® Can Help Him Stay In His Home
When family members or friends aren't able to help the older adults they love, Home Instead Care Professionals can. With a network of locations across Vermont, and worldwide, Home Instead is all about taking care of older family members long-term in the homes they've enjoyed and treasured. We provide a range of services including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, shopping, errands--everything you'd do for your loved one, and more--to give you peace of mind, whether you live several states away or in the next county.
Inspired by a Personal Experience
It was Paul and Lori Hogan's own personal experience caring for their 100-year-old grandmother in her home that inspired them to launch Home Instead in 1994. They realized many families had the same need for non-medical in-home care and elder companionship that could help seniors live independently at home. The demand for these important services has been so great, that the company's network now has 800 locally owned franchises across North America and around the globe.
