Chaplain Assistance Program

Our people are important. Without our compassionate Care Professionals and the great team that supports them, we're unable to provide top-quality care for our clients and teach others about Love (v).

That's why we support our teams with a variety of helpful resources to engage them in their careers and encourage them in their daily lives, from training and ongoing development to company events, a recognition program, a Care Pro Café and more.

Chaplain Assistance Program for Care Professionals

Another way we support our people in their professional and personal lives is by making a corporate chaplain available to them. Our Chaplain Assistance Program is a complimentary service offered to our Care Pros and administrative team members. It is designed to help improve their quality of life and support them in the challenges, crises and emotions they face on a daily basis, in both their professional and personal lives.

Certified chaplains routinely offer confidential care in:

  • Marriage support
  • Financial & budgeting matters
  • Serious illness, death & dying
  • Depression, stress & anxiety
  • Addictions
  • Long-term grief support
  • Stress management
  • Conflict & dispute resolution

Each week, our chaplain visits our office to connect with Care Pros and office staff. Our people are encouraged to stop by to say hello, discuss issues that are weighing on their hearts and minds, as well as receive a moment of friendly encouragement for their lives. The chaplain is also available to meet offsite in the event of an urgent crisis or should something happen after hours.

In these circumstances, the chaplain's role is to simply be there and to be a friend who truly cares. Sometimes, something as simple as being available to listen can make the biggest difference.

Chaplain Assistance Program for Clients

In the spirit of Love (v) and our Core Purpose, the Chaplain Assistance Program is also available to clients who are struggling in their faith, have spiritual questions or concerns, or are confused by portions of Scripture.

If clients are being challenged spiritually, they are invited to work with their Care Pros to take advantage of our program by scheduling a complimentary Care Session with our on-staff chaplain.

Our professional chaplain is trained and certified in such matters, and has experience in the pastoral ministry. He applies his experience, along with a non-denominational, Bible-based approach, to help, support and guide clients in their faith-based struggles.

About Our Chaplain

When Robert Terrell discovered the opportunity to be our corporate chaplain in summer 2020, he instantly recognized that something set us and our culture apart. To him, it was Love (v).

Robert Terrell, Chaplin for Home Instead clients and caregivers in the greater Stevens Point and Plover areaHe said, “As a corporate chaplain, I wake up each morning with the belief that God desires we not be alone in life and work, especially during our most trying experiences; therefore, I connect strongly with Home Instead’s Core Value: Love (v).” As corporate chaplain for Home Instead, Robert aims to support Care Pros and Key Players through the many types of professional and personal challenges that tend to affect everyday life; in fact, it is Robert’s formal training and diverse vocational background that lend to his ability to relate to all types of situations.

Robert possesses a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, as well as a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth and a Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Theological Seminary. Prior to Home Instead, he served as corporate chaplain for companies in a variety of sectors and ministered churches in Michigan, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana and Wisconsin. Beyond his ministerial work, Robert has filled the roles of small business owner and Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act adjuster for Ingall’s Shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

In his spare time, Robert likes to read, hunt, fish, run and work on his 1989 Mustang convertible. He also enjoys the local food scene near his residence in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He lives there with Pam, his high-school sweetheart and wife of 30+ years. Together, they have two adult sons and a beloved basset hound. Born and raised in Alabama (Roll Tide!), Robert has been a cheese-loving Wisconsinite since 2007.
